Well guys I’m at one extreme (LONG) now. I want to go to the other (SHORT) extreme. How long could the barrel be and still be T.T. quiet and everything fit INSIDE the frame? Isn’t the 12″ barrel pretty much right at the limit?
youre a dick crowpopper :9: 😕 😯
nope im not a dick its just the fact that we have been flodded here as of late with spammers and their lil grey links at the bottom of their posts i mean if the person in question wanted to say hi they could have made their own post and not post this crap in a members post asking about which barrel to buy!! am i correct?
i believe yes
lol. i suppose 😆
Yep, I had Tony make me a 16″ barrel of my Talon SS and with a 8″ shroud the guns OAL is perfect.
I do really like the Talon SS length but the 16″ barrel give me the power I want. I can always take off the shrould if I wanted to but I love quiet airguns. 😛
I had my .22 barrel chopped to 17″ but still have my 24″ .25 barrel for real power.
The 17″ length returns healthy power and still will allow for a frame extension and an SS endcap.

i say the 12 inch barrel is selling yourself short. i bought an ss but soon went to 18 inch barrels, and a 3 inch frame extender and sold the 12. everyone seems to feel that 18 is best for the standard talon type of platform.
but if thats what you insist on or require, i would get a .177 and a .25(if it were me)
i like the reply above about cutting one down to 16.

.22 for me
.177 you will need a different valve spring and .25 you are going to be lobbing in those shots

ive decided that when my .25 barrel blank shows up its getting cut down to 16″ so it sit inside my TSS frame so i will only be adding the length of the LDC and gives me more fps than a 12″ …but thats just my .02 Greg
Sam, if you decide you want a .22 12 inch barrel, i will sell you mine for $100( with vented bushings) and you can try it out at the ranch before you buy it. let me know. Jerry
For hunting/killing/pest extermination, the .25 is very effective. I haven’t had any pests escape into my neighbor’s yard using .25 caliber projectiles. I have thought about getting a 12″ barrell for my TSS, but my .25 Marauder performs so well, I don’t see any reason to do it. That leaves my TSS for plinking and the ocasional pest.

17″ is flush with the frame 16″ and shorter allows for a SS endcap to be used.
12″ was accurate but wasted air charge and did create the velocity of a 16 or 17″ barrel.
