Q:

Finally done with my RWS 48 !!!! PICS

Well i finally finished the gun as the shroud arrived today.
It is a RWS48 with a Vortek PG2 kit, I did a debur and hone job and complete relube also.
I sanded the stock lightly and repainted it and installed theBipod
It is shooting CP’s at 860 now and very consistant
at 50 yards im under 3/4 inch groups
This wone is going to be my rig to keep on the 4 Wheeler while ice fishing/ rabbit hunting!!
Enjoy!
It sports a full shroud from Rich in Mich also
and sorry for blurry pics

Crowpopper, would you say the 48 is more accurate than your XL?

as of now yes
but my xl is not shooting to full power only like 25 fpe it should be at 30 so its apart right now awaiting parts from crosman when its done ill do some side by sides

the shroud seems to deaden the sound a bit
it is definately back yard friendly
kinda like using a staple gun …..until the pellet SMACKS the target lol,

How’s the shroud working? Noticeably quieter?

thanks guys
i ran 750 pellets down the tube now
it smoothened out even more
and at my 18 yards in base ment im getting single hole groups
it stacks jsb heavys pretty good, Cp’s are not great in it
polymags are 1 holers as are the AA 16 grainers and the lead free TM2 dynamics i shot 5 into the target and had to take apart target to see if i hit it because the literally went into the same hole with no evidence what so ever
this gun is VERY nice
i tried shooting it cradled in my arms and the poi shifts by 1/4 inch at 18 yards
as long as i let gun float in my arms and same on bipod as long as it floats its tight if i hold it tight the groups string higer and higher the tighter i hold

Nice crow!!!

I really like how that one turned out. Ive always wanted one of those.

Once I found a used one in a pawn shop for $200.

I was mulling it over when the idiot shop owner started dry-firing the rifle to show me how loud it was.

“Extremely powerful” “Shoots clear through a car door”

I walked out without the rifle, but always wondered how much it would have cost to fix the damage.

Not good…. in addition to the spring, piston, and seal… that could warp the compression chamber as well and then you’d had a parts gun.

I’ve seen the same type things go on in pawn shops. Makes me pucker up each time I see it.

Nice I like the color. How’s the shroud working?

Nice….

Gotta love the big springers. The 48’s are tanks and shoot really good. Sounds like that Vortek kit was money well spent.

Looks awesome! Good job.

3/4″ at 50 yards? If I would have know a springer could do that, I may not have ever gone to the dark side. Very solid shootiung. And I like the asthetic changes as well.
