.308 Corsair Range Session (9+ min. Video)
Hey guys. Been hanging with the new .308 Corsair lately and i’ve been having a little fun with it. I took it out the other day so she could finally stretch her legs. I ended up shooting the gun at 60 yards (sight in), 80 yards and 110 yards. All with “GREAT” success. I won’t bore you guys with TOO MUCH INFO but here are some stats on my particular gun.
Barrel: 27.5″
Caliber: .308″
Action: Bolt action, single shot
Trigger pull: 3 lbs (tuned by me)
FPE: 220-255 FPE (dependent on bullet used)
Fill Pressure: 3600 psi (mine works best at this PSI/BAR)
Scope: Simmons Pro Hunter 6-21-44mm with Mil Dots, AO, Side Focus, Target Turrets 1/8″ clicks
Stock: Tiger Wood Laminate by Richards Micro Fit

Good call guys. Like MAW, i’ve detuned mine a little bit. And yes, in the video is the DETUNED version. By detuned, i simply trimmed a little off of the mainspring and made some fine adjustments. Like MAW said, i can get about 5 shots total but i only shoot 3 off of a 3600 psi fill. I simply have not had enough time to fully test the gun as the gun is pretty new and there is not enough AIR in the day to get everything done in one outing.
Since my last posting of the FPS chrony string, the video shows another velocity which is more than likely slower than the numbers MAW posted. LOL, as i do one video and post, the gun gets modded by the next video.
In other words, with the next video, i will include a CURRENT chrony string along with some other fun stuff.
Nice video Tofazfou!! The Corsair is like a 5 shot max. unless you detune it, it has a very small air tube, I think his # are 847 to 822fps for the 3 shots, in the 155 gr., which is very good consistancy and very fast, my # are 771 to 749 for 3 shots, and the bullets shoot just the same as his did so the guns are very predictable. I detuned mine alittle.

Ive only did 45 yards with mine for testing, and it hits dead center, Actually cuts the bullet holes. I shoot 3 shots per fill and have shot 4 but the 4’th is about 2″ off. The gun loves the 115 round nose or flat nose from Hunters supply. I get 202 Foot pounds at the muzel and I shot it through 2 heavy treated Lowe’s 2X4’s at 25 yards and they didn’t seem to slow it down. Love My Corsair Nope it isn’t for sale 😀
That gun takes air rifles to a whole new level, How many quality shots do you get off a 3600 fill? and what kind of velocity is that thing propelling those big chunks of lead at? seemed to be moving pretty damn fast, could have sworn I heard em zing when you were shooting at those liquor bottles at 80 yards.
He mentioned in the video that it was 3 shots per fill…and the plates all had three holes in them…

I heard that 3 shots at each plate…..I want to know how many shots he can get out of a fill, cant be too many throwing that size lead with a small air tube
Big bores use so much air per shot that I doubt he gets more than three. Yeah you can squeeze in a shot or two more…maybe…but you will have a serious POI change.
