Q:

#3 Buckshot fired from a 25 Condor

Has any one else fired any #3 Buckshot from their 25 caliber condor?
I shot 3 today at 45 yards and they looked like a miniature 3 leaf clover, all three shots connected at that range, and with the power setting on the lowest setting I got 1026 FPS and the Buck 25 Diameter weighted 23 grains.
I never tried any higher I think low low is fine.
Any Suggestions? Will Buckshot mess up my barrel? 😥 I’m just curious because you can get 5 pound of #3 buckshot for about 24 Dollars plus tax, and my calculations I’m getting 54 pounds of Muzzle Energy.
I didn’t fire all 3 with one shot, I shot one buck shot, making 3 shots, they fit tight.

If you get any of the 7 rings, don’t shoot them on the lower power settings…what would be the point? I don’t know which of the slugs you shot but even the 6 ring is 50% heavier than the 43gr Eun Jin. The slugs are meant for WOT!

I’ll be using them on my Talondor I bought here from john condor25.
I’ve been doing some night shooting with it and it is a tack driver with the night vision. But have to let Christmas get over with maybe I can talk wife in to having it early lol.

just for kicks, you should try cranking up the power wheel and checking the velocity/energy/range. lead round ball should hurt the barrel bore and it would be interesting to know just what they are capable of.

These are lead buck shot, and they shoot good, I always used the Condor on Low zero setting. With the Diablo Exacts it shoots in the mid 900’ds. I figured I’d just leave it there but next time I shoot I’ll crank it up to about 10 and see across the chrono.
Yep Jerry’s Slugs shoot good John condor25 sent me some and I shot them and they hit with authority even in my low setting, I only shot the 4 he sent but they was on the money as far as shot placement and consistency is concerned. But one thing I’m watching is the Ricochet affect of the round Balls they could glance back and put a hole in my head ,, I know people who has been killed that way, with 22 round nose ammo, shooting rats in trash dumps and the bullet came back and hit them and killed them instantly .
Thanks for the Info, I saw the Lead balls and they was marked 25 #3 so I had to buy a box, Good stuff just keep a good target like a box of rags thats what I use for my Bow and it works good. I don’t shoot in the house, I use my outside garage to get it in the Ball park and then I go outside and do my 45 yard final tune and then use it every where between and see how it shoots.
Any way It was a good experiment that went right for chepos like me,, but in the real hunt, I have the 43 Grain EJ’s, thinking about maybe when the holidays are over maybe buying a few of Jerry’s super shocker 7 ring pellets. 😀

Round ball are fun. I did some squirrel hunting with them. I also like the slugs Jerry has available. Accurate and Lots of damage to stuff. 😀

Better in what way? The ball is cheap and accurate to a decent range. I wouldn’t make it my only choice for a powerful gun though as pellets and slugs can be much more effective at long range.

Better than a 25 cal pellet?

The #3 shot from Hornady is good stuff. The ball are very uniform and round nowadays and that makes for great inexpensive bulk ammo.

Back in October I went to a shoot and I had my .25 set to low power for the #3 shot. Everyone who used the gun had no trouble hitting the targets out to 75 yards. Beyond that accuracy suffered but we had other guns for those targets. You might be able to reach a little further as you’re shooting faster than my set-up.

If I were you, I wouldn’t change a thing for plinking. Enjoy the cheap ammo.
