Q:

Am the happy recipient of a CondorFrame from my bud RandyHub

So fellas what to do with it?

Thinking to build this up over the winter.

say an 18″ .22 barrel and the bits to drive it near 25fpe.

Kinda want to see if I can do the Denskin 100 shots at 30fpe tune.

Thank you Randy, very nice stuff!

Here is the 175 plus string. Harryparatestis

I have done it. it’s to much trouble for me. i would rather just keep a tight shorter string, much easier to keep up with. I have a 175 shot string somewhere, but lower power.

175 shot string? Is that on a single fill? Holy crap, I can’t even get that many shots out of mine when I have the CO2 tank on it.

You guys keep talking about an o-ring on the valve, do you just put that on so it sits behind the tophat? If so what size do you use, I know they are numbered when I have to fetch one at the hardware store.

I am always so fascinated with how much detail and time you guys put into your guns, I wish I had the time or neighborhood to do the same. I have mine dialed in pretty close, but I just bang out a few shots here and there when time and conditions allow. I wish I knew my Talon SS inside and out like I knew my paintball markers back in the day.

Anytime Walter, you always come thru for me and others so glad to see you have a new project that is yours as you are always helping other fellow airgunners. 🙂

If I recall correctly, Denskin was doing the same trick that many Sumatra owners have done…

He was using a Talon valve, 24 inch barrel… and had the gun tuned to a certain fill pressure…. with the PW set high to overcome valve lock…. as he took shots, he lowered the PW setting to keep the air conserved and keep the shots at 30fpe… then… as the pressure decreased, he started turning up the PW again to keep the valve open longer to achieve the same 30fpe.

Certainly plausible… if not fiddly.

Have to say I’ve always wondered why you don’t do that, mentioned it a longtime back. If you can map the powerwheel, you should be able to keep the string tight all the way through the bottle. Pain in the ass to map it out, but once done should double your shot count at least, AND give you a nice flat string?

powderburner,

I’d bet you could repeat that string even in this weather…All you have to do is fill the tank outdoors and then put an electric sock on it when you start to shoot.

Powder Burner nice string, I haven’t got a chance to give the oring a good test yet but plan to, I have been told by more than one member it does work well on saving air and adds more shots to the string! my top hat is set at .086,power wheel set at 0, and it shoots from 1000fps down to 922fps average of 962 my gun is a 22 cal with an 18″ barrel, I tried an oring on it this Fall just to see what it would do without any other adjustments, the fps dropped to around 890 if I remember right didn’t try a shot string but if I get a chance I am going to, I am guessing maybe if I bump up my power wheel to around 4 or 6 the fps might come up a bit but I am not sure without trying it. I don’t think it will come up that much or as far as yours is shooting at 1000 fps I would be happy with 950 if the string was good and stayed consistent but I am anxious to try it out, one way or the other I am pretty sure I will be running with an oring behind the top hat, I have heard nothing but good results from more that one person 😆

Walter i think that i had 2000 psi of 70 something degrees air in my gun tank and when i went out to the 102 degree temps outside the air psi in the gun tank came up as i was shooting hence the longer string of higher velocity shots . 🙂

top hat is usually at .085 and power wheel 4.6 to 5 ,

that and the oring behind the top hat saves allot of air.

BRAIN TUMOR ,, wouldnt doubt it.

i think i just get lucky some times too. 😀

Any tips on setup to achieve such?

Brain tumor.

P/B, that is a fantastic string of shots!

Walter….

Here is a string i came up with a while back. 2000 fill 14 grain cr. hp.
1018.1019.1008.1007.996.1000.992.984.991.989.982.
996.1003.1007.1008.1001.1014.1010.1011.1010.1015.
1013.1014.1016.1033.1008.1024.1021.1011.1012.1014.
1026.1029.1020.1020.1020.1019.1022.1025.1023.1019.
1017.1025.1013.1017.1022.1019.1014.1013.1016.
1850 left

50 shots 11 sd, 51 e.s.

gun had been in 70 something degree house and it was over 100 out side. 🙂

Remember Ole Denskin was running on a nice brain tumor at the time. His claims while fantastic have never been repeated.

Go for it I bet you can get close, maybe 70 shots at 26 fpe.

Just what Denskin did……Hallucinate

Adam, so it never was done? thought it was but only running on memory
