Q:

HPA Tank Question

OK: I went out and got a Drozd Blackbird.. Now its time mod the thing. When I ordered it I had Droxd-Max put the chip in it and I have ordered the battery’s and the Deelux barrel kit from Jim C. I am now going to buy a HPA tank for the power. My question is can you fill the HPA tank through a Airforce CO2 adapter from a scuba tank. The guy at my local paintball store had never seen that type of fill adapter and didn’t know if it would fill through the regulator.
So to be clear… I would like to screw the HPA tank into the Airforce adapter and then into the Airforce scuba tank fill gauge. Will that work??
Thanks for any advice you guys can give.

Let me backtrack after I’ve re-read….

I dont know if you can fill through the reg….. I missed that part.

……why not just fill through the QF?

Cannot fill through the reg 🙂

QC is the only way into the tank.

…and so it is! I didnt think so, but spouted off in my first post without reading fully the question… 😳

Will do.. And thanks for the info. I was concerned about the reg. Looks like its back to the store to spend some more money.

If anyone knows the details one the Reg mod or the shirt thing let me know.

I think your safest bet will be to just get the QF….. even if you could fill through the reg, you are subjecting it to the possibility of getting crap in the reg which would be cause for failure.

you can modify regs to give higher outputs on them, though I dont know the exact formula…. I have mine regged at 850psi and with the 23 inch barrel I am getting around 640fps…which is good enough. This gives me good velocity without me wiping through air at breakneck speed.

I dont have anything left on the shirts…no pic, nothing….. maybe someone will chime in… that was a couple computers back and that data is long gone…sorry.

Tony did have some extra shirts at some point, may want to check with him.

Well the reason for all the extra crap is I don’t want to buy all the parts for the quick fill adaptor. I already have the airforce parts. Just being a cheep ass. Is there a way to add shims to a stock HP tank to get it higher that the 800 out put??

On another note. Rob: I got some luggage stolen on my last trip out of town and my TAG shirt was in there. Is there any hope for a reprint or a J-peg file so I can get a new one made?? ( I hate people that steal your Shit! )

…and by the way… the Blackbird on HPA kicks ASS…!!!

The 23 inch barrel will really up your velocity along with the steroided batteries!

If you were going to go about it that way, you’d have to screw an AirForce CO2 Adapter into the HPA tank… then screw the AF fill adapter onto the CO2 adapter… then the AF fill adapter onto a Scuba….

why not just use the QF on the reg? Thats what it’s there for…
