Reducing Hammer Slap. Oring in Hammer or Breech?
Does anyone have any experience with putting a full O-ring into the Hammer vice a trimmed O-ring into the Breech? Is one quieter than the other and can you do both? If anyone has any pictures of a hammer with an O-ring modification, please feel free to post one up.

what all have you done to the vsr 10 to get 650 and with what weight bb’s , my son has the sr 22 , and it was shooting low 400’s and i pulled it apart and tuned and polished and shimmed and got it right at 500 to 510 ‘s with the .20 crosmans bb’s .
that sucker hits pretty hard , It leaves a whelp 😆
Not yet on my Talon SS. I have one on my VSR-10 airsoft sniper rifle shooting about 650fps and it takes a lot of the sound down in that. Of course that is a springer, but I can only imagine it will take the “Twang” out of the hammer hitting the breech.
Looks like it would work, have you tired it yet?
So, has anyone else tried this “Sorbothane”?
It is funny, I just had that same thought and was just remembering that I have something similar in my VSR-10 airsoft rifle. Perhaps this would work REALLY WELL for our air force rifles to attach directly on the hammer or the breech, or perhaps both. The item that I am talking about is SORBOTHANE pads. They are 1mm, 2.7mm, or 5mm thick I believe and are made for reducing noise and vibration. They are used in airsoft aeg’s to reduce noise from the cylinder head and piston.

this is a way i have done it, works well and gives a flat larger surface area for the hammer. plus i wanted to keep the original one clean for resale reasons.
my camaras a bit crap but the finnish is smooth.
I have seen that one. That is apparently the old method. Now, I believe Tony is putting the O-Ring into the Hammer instead of the Breech. I was trying to get some feedback from anyone who has done this if it really makes a difference or not and if anyone has pics of the Oring installed into the Hammer itself.
look at the breech page, last photo, I hting this is what you are looking for. Also give him a call, he’s always been good at answering all my questions.
No picture of the hammer with oring installed listed on his website. I think is is doing this now instead of putting it into the breech. But still trying to find out from someone how this does in comparison and see a picture.

The top two pics are my custom built VSR-10. Hand made stock similar to
“Smokeys” discontinued stocks. Still building this one but almost done. Internals basically PDI with custom M-Trigger and custom hop up unit with silicone air seals and 6.01 barrel.
Second is the M4 sniper system hand built. Haven’t measured it but I would guess that it is also around 600fps but technically an AEG so for a real sniper rifle on the field playing airsoft, you would hear the motor on this one.
