Breech slide removal
Hi everyone
I am having trouble removing the thread where the bottle attaches to the frame.
I do not want to go and balls things up but I do want to replace the o rings in the breech slide as i think air is escaping when the gun is fired.
I have not tried it yet but was just thinking maybe the breech slide can be removed through the barrel.
Does anyone know if this can be done before I waste any more time attempting it.
any advice would be great.
just not confident on striping things back too far at the moment.
although I have replaced the hammer and spring and fitted a high flow valve from Dave.
the barrel end Is simple enough though.
please help if you can.

True, I’ll leave it for the moment and see how I get on in the field
maybe it just sounds louder due to where I am so close to it.
I don’t think the rabbits will hear it untill it’s too late anyway.

Never been a hammer slap mod fan myself. Anything that absorbs impact usually does not do it in a consistent way, which leads to fps inconsistency. Though I’m sure others will disagree on this.
Replaced both O rings in the breech
Now no air escaping a bt fiddley though lubed them with SM 50
Now a bit more effort is needed to cock the hammer and very tight fit to the valve but a least it’s not sloping around,
dry fired a couple of times and now getting 100% of the air down the barrel.
Next job will be to try and sort out the hammer slap.
Any ideas?

I will check it over the week end for FPE should be better than 36.5 for sure.
Then I can start to zero it in.

Yeah, little buggers can work loose. They get a fair beating from the hammer. If you can, drill a couple more holes for grub screws through the frame. It will hold that collar properly then.
Oh another thing while I think of it ,when I tried to remove the grub screw in the collar It looked like someone had glued it in place.
Is this normal and are they notorius for working themselves loose over time.
If so I will have to go back in and secure it.

Depends on how often you lube them. You’ll know when they are worn as you’ll start to feel/hear air escaping on each shot again….

I will give it a go I’m sure the O rings would improve the power a little
I think while it’s out I will put a damper on the hammer to improve the noise hitting the breech.
If the O rings are replaced do you know roughly how long they will last if they are kept well lubricated.

Yes, remove barrel and internals, hold down trigger(plus maybe safety) and push breech out(aftwer taking cocking knob off of course)

I would not worry about hammer slap from a noise stand point. If you have to be that quiet then you are probably doing something you shouldn’t be =)
