Q:

Filling the Talon Tank

I just received my Talon.
I also have a Scuba Tank and Refill Clamp.
Followed the instructions on filling the tank. The gauge on the refill clamp climbed to 1600 PSI and stopped. It will go no higher.
I live at an altitude of 5200 feet. Currently about 69 degrees in the house. The Scuba tank is probably colder as it was out in my truck. Outside temp is about 45 degrees right now.

What if anything am I doing wrong? Instrctions say tank should be filled to 28oo PSI will not do it.

Any help appreciated!

Glad you got that bad gauge sorted out.
My new fill adapter leaks bad and couldn’t get over 2800 psi and the dive shop said they would not fill with it again. I’ve been pumping ever since, over a year. I’ve had trouble with a couple AF Chinese accessories. Otherwise I’m having a great time with my Condor .22 x 24″ convertible to .177 x 12″.

Thanks all for the replies…
It turns out the gauge was bad.
New gun but the fill clamp was used, turns out it was broken.
I bought a new pressure gauge from a local welding shop installed it….viola IT WORKS!

Got my gun pressure to 2800 psi. Will not go to 3000 psi.
That’s OK gun shoots great on #7 using Crow Magnums 18.2 grains.

Be shooting some feral pigeons here shortly.
Can’t wait to see how it performs in the real world.

I do have a chrony and will be putting together a range card and MOA settings for out to 50 yards.

Pigeon Sniper, great name! Welcome to the darkside; enjoy your journey. You probably have 2500 in your Talon tank. If you opened the scuba tank valve and left it open, then the two tanks should equalize. Have you shot the gun? It should be hitting hard. Dou you have a chronograph, or maye use somebodies else? Good luck and let us know what happens.

Most likley a faulty gauge……

If the talon bottle took 1600psi, there is no way it would not take more. Either a crap gauge or a low scuba fill.

What is your Scuba tank pressure?

3000 PSI. They were just filled. The guy at the dive shop was telling because of the cold weather they show 2500 psi.The compressor that filled the tank is set to cut off at 3000 psi.

What is your Scuba tank pressure?
