Q:

WTF Condor valve NOT more powerful than modded Talon valve

Guys,
I just received a brand new tank with Condor high flow valve and it is apparently no more powerful than Tony’s power modded Talon tank & valve that I already own. WTF? I expected a big boost in power from a Condor valve, and I’m not getting it at the moment.

I tested both tanks/valves with a 2,500 psi fill and .25 Kodiaks, firing into identical phone books from point blank range. Powerwheel was set on 10 for the test. I expected the Condor valve to sink the pellet far deeper in the phone book, but instead, they both penetrated the exact same depth. So, what is going on? Will I get more power from the Condor valve if I use a heavier hammer? This TSS was tuned by Tony and has one of his brass hammers in it, but I don’t know its weight. The .25 barrel is a bit over 17″. Any suggestions for allowing me to unleash the potential in this high flow valve?

Norg, your barrel is too short to utilize the virtues of the condor valve. It will use a lot more air and make a lot more noise, but won’t give you more velocity, as you saw when we shot over my chrono using my condor/modded valve.

However, I just ran a test a few days ago using a new solid one piece valve stem that I’m making for another forum user. with less than 1500 psi in the tank, it was sending the 31g kodiaks around 850fps and it was QUIET, indicating very high efficiency.

Just goes to show you what Tonys work on the Talon valve does.

You need a Condor hammer or hammer weight to open up a Hi -Flo Condor tank…..
