Q:

Talon 18" over speed. 1450fps at 4 power setting

Hello,

Today, testing my talon .177 barracuda 10.6gr, power setting 4.

shot over my chrony and wow 1450 fps

Too Hot.

lowering the power wheel until zero, try shot and no result at my chrony, and

try again shot no result also.

I’m looking the hole at my back yard wall, and there are no hole at my what I’m aiming when shot over my chrony.

I don’t have any idea, where my pellet landed at my back yard wall 10 yards from where I shot. What is wrong?

How to make this talon stay at under 1000 fps? 800-900 is enough for Me.

Cheers
Markus

I could never approach those speeds, even with a 21 inch barrel and Condor valve, i also suspect the chrony is lying to ya..

check your chrony 1450 seems WAY high even for a modded out condor

yep what crow said. its almost impossible for a 10grainer to reach that speed. Hope you’re not using that Combro chronograph.

Man does that TH have hair and blood stuck to it???? 😯 😆

You really need to get a pair of feeler guages comes in a set at like an Automtive shop or good hardware store, then you can measure and see exactally what you have, measuring between the bottom of the bottle ust under the top hat right where you oring is at 😯 and as far as a stock valve your gun the hole in the top hat is what you want to look at talon is small condor has a bigger hole down the center of the top hat, If you bought your gun used it could have been changed out to a high flow valve, you need to find out first what you have a stock talon or a gun someone else has modified!

Ok, I will check it with feller gauge.

My bottle is new stock talon, not condor

Try an o-ring the size of the valve pin shaft or a little larger just behind the Top Hat.

You’ll get more shots per fill and consistency with PSI I think under 2600.

I lost most of my notes when I got my iphone wet.

this is the picture

Try the Skenco Predator Big Boy Senior pellets at 15.8gn in 177. That will slow the gun down a little. And try a lower fill pressure – 2200psi etc.

On the plus side – you’ll need less air from your SCUBA tank / hand pump if you get 900-950fps at a lower pressure!

Need more info fill pressure stock talon? no mods? pellet weight is good stay with the heavier pellets, I am guessing you can turn the power wheel to 0 like you have it, which is really just a preload! setting, try a fill of 2400 down to 1600 or so, need to know your complete set up. Also is this a new gun or preowned? If pre owned someone might have done some mods on the valve opened it up polished it or it even might have a condor valve set up on it, you should be able to tell on that though by looking at the opening in the top hat, Talon is smaller that the Condor look on Talon Tunes click on there banner and there are pictures of both valves that way you can compare yours!
