TalonSS shooters…
I’m a big fan of CO2 and have been shooting my .177 SS with CO2 only. I have a .22 SS on the way and will have the option of going pre-charged as well. I know all guns are different, but since I no longer have a chrony, was wondering approximately what I could expect in .22 from say a 2900psi fill and power wheel set at 10? Rough idea of velocity and shots per fill? Thanks.

PS Been shooting my .177 with 3.5oz hangy tank installed as a pistol. The gun is so light it works well. Using the same stance as when shooting as a rifle, but without the tank being used as a butt stock. Sighting with a red dot so eye relief isn’t an issue. With a scope the taco hold should work fine.

From reading and part # searches I think the SS .22 and the SS.117 along with the Talon are all the same tank.
The “high flow” tank you here often is the Condor .22 tank. They will ALL work in ALL rifles.
Interesting that a 22 TSS with CP 14.1gn is getting approx the same 22ft/lbs as my 177 TSS running a 15.8gn Skenco Big Boy Senior pellet at 790fps.
The Condor tank and valve (above) shows the most interesting stats for 22 owners wanting more power. Would a Condor 177 tank work on my TSS?
The FAQ section of the AF website publishes three different velocities for each of its gun/barrell combinations.
Scroll down just a little bit and you will see their table. I am pleased that they don’t inflate their stats, but then again they don’t need to. 😀

Does anyone know if AF uses the standard “lightest pellet available” to state their advertised velocities? The feedback I’m getting and personal experience seems to show real world numbers, using CO2, exactly 100fps slower than advertised. Would then make sense for a 6.9 to travel as stated. Thanks again.

Hi ColdAir, welcome to the madness. 😉 My TSS was shooting Crosman Premiers 830fps out of the box with a 2700psi fill. What a great little airgun. Good luck!

I own a 177 and get about 890fps with Kodiak 10.6gn for about 19ft/lbs… My understanding is a 22 SS runs about 30fpe which translates to approximately (pinch of salt required) 800fps with 21.14 grains.

Yes they are all different.
But with mine I got these velcities first number is with a ss valve and second with a Condor valve and tank and same 12 inch barrel.

Well, yes they will work, but you won’t get optimum performance when you miss match. A TSS with a high folw tank will waste air and be louder than if it were fitted with a standard tank. A Condor with a TSS tank will not deliver the top end velocities as not enough air will be released fast enough to attain the desired velocity. Then ther is the discussion of what weight hammer to use with which tank. All of this is purpose driven.
