Q:

RWS/DIANA 75 rebuild

I just picked up a Diana 75 Match rifle for a good price, but the seals are totally gone and there isn’t even enough pressure to get a cleaning pellet out the barrel when it’s fired.

Does anybody here know where I can have this rifle cleaned and new piston and breach seals installed? UMAREX in Arkansas will do it, 😯 $$$$$$$ 😯 but I was hoping someone else might have ideas where these rifles can be serviced.

To the best of my knowledge the seals were upgraded later in production and add to that a few of the really talented smiths have fabricated their own to replace the factory articles.

as to whether its all worthwhile…
I’ll say this
a 75′ in peak tune is an incredible gun, no movement what so ever, truly recoiless
the 300 is a different bird and I have never gotten used to having the action recoil toward my eyeball

figure the rebuild will run a $100+ in addition to the parts that will need replacement

drop Pilkguns a call, see what they say

That brings up another good question. This gun is in nice shape with perfect bluing and no major dents in the wood, just a few light handling marks. Is is worth it to have the gun rebuilt?, or will I end up paying a bunch just to have everything go bad again in another 5 years? and on a rifle that’s already 15 years years old or more and probably not worth more than a few hundred tops! 😕

A long time ago I had an FWB 300 and loved it, that’s the reason I picked this Diana 75 up, I love targer rifles with nice wood.

Sometimes I question if it was a good idea given all the other projects I’ve got going.

Not many spares available out there for the 75 and even fewer folks qualified to rebuild them

I think Pilkingtons work on them and know for a fact Bimrose rebuilds them though it may take a year to get your rifle back from Randy

seals tend to disintegrate over time on the 75 and they are an extremely complex piece, more so than even a FWB 300S
