Tophat setting
Can someone tell me the smallest gap that can be set on the Condor tophat? Would a .030 tophat setting damage the valve or anything else? Thanks for any input.

If you get a Talon tank do you guys think you need to remove the extra Condor hammer weight to get results?
OK guys you have given me something to work with now with your suggestions and I’m sure one of these will work. Thanks to all for your help.

Walkon and Anthony have good ideas one like Walk said being that low you will be hitting you top hat a slamming it inot the valve, A standar tank would also work to get lower, What did the stock hammer do? did you try it before you changed out your hammer to a heavier brass hammer? An oring will work to lower your fps say you were shooting 980fps with your top hat around .085 adding an oring to that without any top hat change you would probably be at around 890-900 from what I have found it changes about 100 fps lower when oring is added! Then fills make a difference like I am sure you have tried from what you have posted 😯 For what you are wanting to do probably like Anthony said standard flow tank!
Just put an oring behind that to hat and watch the fps drop, then turn the top hat out to your desired velocity, and use the power wheel to fine tune.
IF i have a exact fps target desired , put in oring , adjust power wheel to around 6, shoot several shots to get a good base on the velocity that you are at with this setting, then adjust top hat up or down to achieve the desired level.
after you have close to the vel you want you can adjust your fill for a tight short string or fill higher for a longer wider range velocity string.
My power wheel is usually around 4.4 for most of my shooting.
good luck
I have my Condor mk2 valve set at .050 and the valve spring all the way in. PW 1/13 with a 85 gram hammer. I just tuned it down to this setting for 880-910-880 fps curve. I fill to 2650psi and get 30 shots. Ending at 2100psi. However I have an 18″ barrel. And this is for 25.4gr JSB’s
IMO…You cannot get low powered consistent shots with your Condor using your PW. My advice is to use a standard flow tank, it will drop velocity approx. 200 fps…..
Good Luck,
Tony
That small of gap and you will be slamming the tophat into the top of the valve.
Eddie I’m trying to get my gun to shoot 25 GR. pellets around 900 f.p.s. but at .040 T/H and n0. 2 on the power wheel it still shoots 1000 f.p.s. I think I made a mistake because I put in a brass hammer and velocity went up. I tried setting the T/H 10 times between .040 and .070 with not to much difference in f.p.s. I’m thinking the Condor was designed to hit hard and it does that very well. Maybe the Talon would have been a better choice. You say to add a small o ring to T/H. Do you mean set T/H TO .070 and then add the o ring. I guess I will try your suggestion because nothing I do works except lowering the p.s.i. when I fill the tank and I hate doing that. I just was wondering what would happen if I used a Talon tank on the Condor, would the gun still work? BTW the dealer said the gun was adjustable from 500 f.p.s. – 1000 f.p.s. Looks like he gave me B/S. Thanks again for any advice.

What is it you are trying to accomplish? let us know more about what you are doing and it will be easier to give you some info on what to do! I have never seen anyone go much lower than .070 or so. If you get a chance let us know what you want to acheive 😯
you would be safer to place a small o-ring under the top-hat.

Probably be a good Idea Savagesam, take out the small weight just to see how it does, there are so many ways to set up these guns but I am guessing a lighter hammer for sure 😯
