Metal Tip Hollow Point – Move over Predator!

I can finally reveal the new pellets I’ve been testing. The UltraMag is very impressive, balancing deep penetration, a wide wound channel, and it holds together! I have found the head/tail separation of traditional hollow points not so good as the varmint tends to suffer longer than necessary.

I expect 22 and 25 to be even more devastating. The metal tip will not deform with a pair of pliers… Predator can only watch with envy 🙂

The screw top plastic containers are double lined with foam to protect the pellets. I did have some deformed Ultrashocks but the Ultramags seemed fine.

I hand sort all my hunting pellets, even from H&N, because each shot has to count.

if all they are is ultrashocks with a tip, i vote no just cause the skirts are PAPER THIN. makes a nice seal in the bore though, as long as you sort out damaged skirts…

These are heavy pellets, not sure about 12fpe, but in a 20fpe 177 they grouped as well as I could shoot. On the plus side; the BC is better than the PolyMag, making for a flatter trajectory.

The ultramag and ultrashock are made in the same die. Only difference is the metal tip.

Ill wait till I see groups before I try them. None of the other Skunko pellets have shot well for me.
