Need help with a custom 0.22 Barrel and bushings for condor
Hello,
I have an Airforce Condor in 0.177 caliber with the new 0.177 tank. I am not able to get my hands on a 0.22 Lothar Walther barrel to convert my condor to a 0.22. Assuming I can safely do this, I would like to cut the barrel of a 0.22 air rifle and machine it to fit the condor.
My questions:
1. The barrel is about 16″ long after being cut. What are the specs for the barrel at the breech end for machining? Please let me know if there are any schematics for this.
2. What are the specs for the bushings and positions for installation on the barrel? What are the bushings made of and how are they fixed to the barrel?
3. What else do I need to do to make this work?
4. Will this work?

Indeed I allways saw off the choke from a barrel… and then it’s into the lathe to reface and recrown…

The muzzle of the air rifle barrel that I am planning to use is swaged for front sight dovetails. I read somewhere that this swaging could make the muzzle choked. So, I might have a choked barrel!
I read a lot of reports stating great accuracy with un-choked barrels. Especially with the slug type(non diablo) style pellets.
I promise to pay better attention next time.

Are you guys sure the groove diameter is the same?? I thought the air rifles barrels are .221 and the .22rf is .224. Also, the lack of a choke on the .22rf barrel will not help accuracy either.
Not wanting to pee on your parade, but I’m pretty sure you won’t be happy with the results.
I may be wrong, too.

he is wanting to use .22 airgun barrel
OOPS… the bore of an airgun barrel is .216-.217″

If it’s a “normal ” Weihrauch barrel they shoot good at ax. power of 25 ft/lbs.
Copy your .177 sizes, to the .22 and it will fit.

I guess this mod should work from feedback that I got uptil now.
You dont need it… but it’ll make things quiter..

I don’t know hou RWS barrels are for “hi speed” 😛
Try first with the choke, if it don’t work, cut off the choke.
