😀 ok…….got it sorted out…..the problem was that where the top hat screws had contacted the stem, they had left some tiny raised burrs which were stopping the stem from passing down and out through the valve holder, so some gentle rubbing down with some wet and dry and out it came 😀

is the stem developing any noticeable scuffing or gouging? if not, im totally confused and would treat it as a sore peter( dont f**k with it) or send it to a pro, unless someone else chimes in here with an answer to this mystery.(and by a “pro”, i certainly dont mean an AF employee…) 🙄 how is it performing otherwise, as is?

yup, it worked fine 😕 still does, now its back together again without having done the usual polishing etc……i think its an anti taper thing but not sure…..

did the valve work at all in the first place? the stem should indeed FALL out 😕 if all is as you say…

indeed stower, all stripped down…..the only thing i havnt removed is the burst disc so maybe its that? anyway, as it is iv given it some mild force and it aint shifting either way , the valve stem that is (incidently its about a year old, so maybe an antitamper feature?) 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕

Assuming by your post that the valve has been removed from the bottle, the tophat set screw loosened, tophat screwed off the stem, spring removed, then the stem should literally fall out of the valve housing. A light rap of a soliud object may dislodge it if stuck, but this should not be needed. Gross overfill maybe? Severely damaged stem? The stem will go out towards the bottle side of the valve BTW. Hope this helps ya?
