I noticed it on your other scope. Is it a clamp-down aid to turning the object and focus lens on the scopes?

I love, and saved, the exploded parts view of the disassembled S510. That kind of information can be extremely handy!
I must ask what is the device at the end of your scope? It almost looks like a GPS antenna held onto your sunshade with a finely crafted bungee cord.
Probably it is much simpler than that, but I can’t figure out what it is.

You seem to like BR, have you considered a free floating barrel/shroud?
I’ve made, how can I call it, a one circle 8 to fit the original fill valve and machined a little slot on top for a rubber to rest the shroud, later I added a retractable spirit level also.

hello hood,
yes it is to focus a adjustable objective ( AO ) scope.
or for more grip at the zoom adjust ring by side focus scopes.
