Looking to buy a Chronograph…What kind should I Get?
I am in the Market for a Chrono… which one should I buy? I figured you guys could point me in the right direction.. I am leaning towards a Pro-Chrono digital. any suggestions?

I’ve had really good luck with my PACT Chronograph, but I have heard comments about the older models having problems with the sky screens and indoor lighting. Nice printer built in. Just don’t leave the batteries in it for months at a time, then pull it out of the box and expect it to work. Ask me how I know. 😆

I couldn’t believe how shitty the sohhoing chrony people were. Fuck them. Their software is not intuitive and their shot strings are very limited. I also found that there were entirely too many error messages.
One of my buddies had a combro that just outright died. I think that he threw it away.
I bought a ProChrono Digital model and it has been so much easier to use without all of those frustrating error messages. I also has nine shot strings that each can record 99 shots each. It is very user friendly. In retrospect, the sc company did me a favor. I would still be laboring away with all of their bullshit.
I bought the sc because that’s what pyramid was selling…and still does.

Yup thats the one. Bloody good little bit of kit. Has turned my combro into a right little geek set up. Use to be just an air rifle over your shoulder going out to the field. Now it’s rifle, combro, laptop to connect to etc…. 😆
Yeh its a bit sad 🙄 , even been on the look out for a PDA of some sorts that i can get chairgun and the combro software on so i can keep it as a portable set up 😎

I didn’t get the extras… for the money I can re-key the strings or simply use the min/max/sd/spread numbers at the end.
I know it’s a little expensive but once you own it you’ll never regret it… I can take mine out to the range or backyard depending on what I want to measure.

32mm max for the combro. Pabs is the bloke called adam who sells the USB cables? Got one for mine and its a must have for testing
Combro will fit on any barrel, especially a nice fat shroud on an SS. You can buy a usb cable that plugs into it from a guy on the AA owners forum. He sends software as well. Plug into your pc/laptop and you have a very useful piece of kit that displays fps and fpe each shot, shot log, averages etc.
I am leaning towards a Pro-Chrono Digital… DO they make a printer setup for it? Looked at those Combros they look compact and all.. but how do you attach it to the fat end of a SS barrel? It looks to me like they were designed to snap on a regular diameter barrel. 😕
Unlike Packrat, I have had trouble with my Chrony!
The rear part of it seems to be decaying with pieces of black plastic missing and the metal is loosing its paint and getting distorted. I have had to straighten it two times now in order to close it.
From all the fucking 25 caliber pellets hitting it at 1000FPS 😆
You are you supposed to shoot thru them like the Chrombo aren’t you? I can’t find rubber bands to hold it to the barrel either.

I’ve had a Shooting Chrony, Alpha model for 18 months…..NEVER had a problem or issue…it will only hold one 32 shot stringat a time, which is perfect for me..But they do offer one that holds LOTS of shot strings all at once ….I love mine..ALSO….if at all possible, buy the printer to go with it..you may not think you need it, but believe me, YOU DO need it, and you’ll be glad you got it!!
The pro chronic wasn’t available when I got my shooting chrony and the learning curve was steep. If you think you might shoot it by accident, like many do with there first one, maybe buy real cheap or used but working good.
Be careful. Triple check your setup. Remember, the barrel where the pellet comes out is not in line with your scope or sights. That may sound like stupid advice but there are many a dead cronies out there.

I have used it on my TSS and a Ruger firearm and it operated flawlessly. Very accurate, reliable, easy to use, and never had a problem with mis-reads. For indoor shooting consider their lighting kit – I use a 700W work light to illuminate a ceiling.
I would recommend making a couple of debris shields… I just cut a couple of plastic squares and taped them over the light sensors. This keeps dust and dirt out of the sensor and you can clean or replace them easily.

One look at that PACT Chrono and I can tell it costs more then I am willing to part with. but definitely looks Sweet!!!
