nitro piston
are these crosman and Benjamin rifles worth anything….crosman seems to have a fairly cheap one for 160 is i any good….accuracy and such ?

Walmart no longer sells it in .177. That is how I got mine so cheap.
Yeah but you’ll find the 177 runs 14fpe… basically 1000fps 177 is about 14fpe… standard for springers. So the 22 at 18fpe ain’t bad.
An RWS 350 177 magnum is 18fpe with a 22 running about 22ish fpe.
not really a power post….im gonna look for it when i go to walmart 150 sounds cheap…they only have the .22 online….i want .177
found a review that stated 17 fpe with cph in .22, thats too little for a 22…but would be nice with 177 though

No chrony here… may have to put that on the wish list….
I may have to re-setup my SoftChrono setup and give that a try…. will let you know how that goes.
The mounts I used were the Centerpoint mid-height one piece mounts. Those are inexpensive and work very well and are so much easier to put on than using the sets of 2. (edit – my mistake, they are Leapers… same thing though I guess.)
When I found this, I was only a bit hesitant as I’d rather have had it in .22 since I already had my .177 Big Cat, but now I am quite happy I purchased it. At that price, I just couldn’t let it go!!!
Walmart still sells it in .22, even available online!! (for delivery to any other Walmart store to pickup)
I looked around at other Walmarts right after this, but found none in .177, so I got real lucky on this one.

The stock mount’s suck (scope is marginally better). I dont throw much away, but they went in the trash.
I have a centerpoint and leapers mounts(from roachcreek – thanks) on mine which seems a good match.

I recently purchased a Crosman Nitro GP in .177 from Walmart on clearance for….OMG!!!! …. $100.00!!!! 😯 😯 😀
Normal price was $160.00. It came with a Centerpoint 4x-32 scope.
I had walked into the store just to “look around” and saw it on a shelf near the automotive accessories. It had a clearance sticker on it, and the shelf said $100.00. I snatched that thing up so fast that the Fantastic Four called me and asked me to become their Fifth!!! 😆 😆
I took it home and was immediately perplexed about the scope mounts.
No matter how I put them on… the scope was visibly canted to the right. 👿 👿
Fiddled with it a bit, till I figured out that the mounts were screwed up..
So, I removed the scope mount on one of my other guns and installed it along with my Bushnell Banner 3-9×40 scope.
Problem solved!!!
Took right up to shooting it. It felt and sounds real nice! Trigger even works reasonably well for a stock one.
I then started sighting it in.
I got it tweeked in in short order then set up fresh targets to test it out.
(Shooting indoors… 10 yards)
First shot… right where I was aiming!!
2nd shot…. WTF??? where the hell did the pellet go???
3rd shot… again… WTF?? where did that one go????
Hmmmm…. no way….???? So, I went up to the target and pulled back the paper and dug into the clay….
WELLLLL…. I’ll, be damned!!!! 3 pellets….stacked on top of each other!!!!
NONE of my other guns seem to shoot like that!!!
I still have to test it out at longer ranges… still looking at snow banks in the back yard… can’t wait until they melt…
I see some fresh mounds from “Pocket Gophers”…. gonna have to do something about that…. And I think I know just what to do….

I bouhg t one of the Crosman NPSS, .22 caliber , when they first hit the market…Atcually was a nice rifle and very accurate…The synthetic stock looked and felt good…I sold due to the fact that it weighed too much for me to carry around all day….It was a FULL-SIZE rifle…I’m a carbine guy (I finally figured out 😕 ) IIRC it shot in low-to-mid 800’s with 14.3 hollow points…hope this helps….
a g1 extreme is basically a phantom 1000x. i don’t know what the difference between them is but i guess thats the name they put on the box for walmart. i think the “extreme” is meant to attract unwitting buyers. its a .177 1000 (supposedly) fps airgun
cool it was the titan i was looking at….do you have a chrony reading of it ?
I got the Titan GP from Walmart for $150 and it’s pretty smooth – nice dead thunk when shot, finish is decent and so far damn accurate.
Some people have a real problem with things that are made in China. Others have had bad experiences with specifically chinese airguns. I believe that it is buyer beware. Some things are great while others are junk.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a “G 1 Extreme”?
I have a regular spring piston g1 extreme and i get about 1 inch at 50 yards with no wind. i use a 4-16 power scope to get these groups but it surprised me for a springer. as far as the nitrogen piston goes it’s superior to the spring. there is no loss of power due to the spring wearing down. if you go onto the pyramid air website and look at the videos for the spring piston there is a great review on them. and as far as them coming for china- chances are that the very keyboard you are typing on, the monitor you are looking at, and most of the stuff around you was made in china. you just need to find a reputable brand-which crosman is.

I’m considering a .22 Titan GP at my WalMart for some testing and to see how a Nitro works.
Anyone recommend some good two or one piece mounts?
