New Fan Of Air Rifles (Need some info please)
I recently went to a shooting range and seen a guy using a pretty cool tactical looking sniper rifle. Come to find out it was an Air Rifle of some sort not sure what brand. Any ways I have been doing lots of research on air rifles for the last month or so. Now I have decided to get the Condor .22 Air Rifle. I am wanting to get into long range shots with these rifles like around 100 yards. Seems to me that this is a pretty challenging mark to get to with the air rifles. I would like to know if the Condor .22 is the one to use to achieve this goal. I also noticed all the upgrades you can get at talon tunes could make a difference. If I could get pointed in the right direction in what I need to do to make this 100 yard shot with decent grouping. The only other thing I need to know is what would be the best ammo to use for this task and still have good energy when it hits at that range. I know this is probably a lot to cover but thanks so much for your help everyone. 😎

Condors have a stock Lothar Walter match grade heavy barrel . Mine shot about 1-1.25 MOA out of the box @ 100 yards and not to bad @ 125 yards.
I used the JSB 18 gr pellets and EinJun 32 pellets. and I out shot powder burners on the range with my bird .
Dont skimp on the glass and mounts , thats your weakest link.

this is about as fun and addictive as crack cocaine, but just remember while youre tinkering, 2-3k of air pressure is NO JOKE, BE CAREFUL when doing any valve work.
Thanks for the quick response I’m still very new with all this and learning a lot about it. Have had lots of experiences as a kid shooting powder rifles but those are a lot different, lol. This is why I’m really wanting to get to this 100 yard mark and do it with pretty good grouping and energy when it hits. But if the condor can hit the 100 yard mark with some good shooting out of the box. Then hopefully with some of the best upgrades I can get with the gun I should have a good chance to get that. Thanks again for the help I’m sure I will be posting lots more before I really get into it, lol. 😈
A Condor .22 ‘should’ shoot out to 100yrds from the box. But it won’t. You need to run a good 500 pellets through it to lead up the barrel and settle the new valve in.
Kodiaks carry the best energy with a degree of accuracy out to 100, but if you want to shoot sub moa then the JSB 18 grainers are your choice. You want to keep these at 900-950fps for peak accuracy so some playing with fill pressures, tophat and powerwheel will be required. And of course a chrony.
Perhaps you need to consider a 25 cal Condor for shooting long distances.

You can work on it yourself if you will take the time to study the infro on this site. They are very simple to work on. Anyone can do it.
Hey everyone thanks for the response’s. Super stoked to try doing this for a hobby. I mean most people can learn how to shot a real gun that can shot hundreds or yards. But this hobby requires some experience and learning to get good at it. Like I said before that dude I saw at the gun range with a air rifle and was shooting like 75 yards pretty dam well. I have seen people not able to even shot a .22L Rifle that well. So I am hooked and looking forward to doing this hobby. I am some other questions about a few things if you guys could help me wit? I noticed the condor can have some pretty good upgrades done to it. Such as a Breech, Hammer 95g, Bushings/Triggers, O. Ring Mod, Spring Retainers. Would like to know how much this would help me achieve my goal of getting my condor to shot at a 100 yards pretty well. I am pretty good with mechanical skills due to street bikes and dirt bikes. So would it possible for me to do all these upgrades myself? Seeing how I have never worked on something like a AirForce Condor, lol. Thanks everyone for all the help.
I have changed my barrel, hammer, spring and valve as well as a few cosmetics.
I have shot about 50 pellets through so far and can not get a decent group.
this is the first gun I have changed and done some tweeking to.
so I am hoping to get to the same point as you are after.
It is very addictive if you start tweeking as well as expensive.
but it is a labour of love these guns are easy to work on with a little knowledge.
and there is a mass of info on this site.
I have been on most of them and this is by far the best.
you can not go wrong as these guys are really helpfull and there is always some one to get you sorted out.

Condor’s are great rifles and easy to tinker with. Get one then Read, Read, and Read some more. This forum will provide you with a wealth of information.
BTW the rifle you saw at the range was not likely a “sniper rifle” unless of course it was owned by a military sniper, just saying. Welcome to TAG.
If you like to tinker you will get there. If you do not like to tinker order from Tony and get out of the box ready to shoot fully tuned .22 condor and your ready to go. He will tell you what fill pressures what pellets and you just shoot! lol If you have the cash it is a nice way to go.
