Buying another gun: Thoughts on 22 Marauder
I’m buying another gun in 22. I like my 177 TSS but want a 22 for more power and hunting of larger animals (coons). I won’t be using it for plinking, so the duty should be low.
Is the 22 Marauder a good purchase? will it shoot good out to 50 yards (wind permitting), is there anything I should know?

I know it is taboo but that is why I switched from the condor.
The Marauder hits what you aim at! millidot this millidot that point and shoot!
Thanks for all advice. The order is in for a 22 m-rod, single shot tray, and DIN->Foster hose. I’m glad to see the gun is considered good for the money.
I would love a more expensive Evanix or AA gun but my budget doesn’t allow. The 25 did tempt me but if I really need to hit something big I’ll pull out a powder burner.
I’m looking forward to running the 22 predator, 22 ultramag, and a 22 barracuda over the chrony. And I can’t wait to have 1.5″ bore/scope height again. 🙂
If it was, me and I had to have another 22, it would be a Evanix Rainforest. Which they say will come out in 9mm next year, It is much more refined, just as accurate if not more so on the average, a little more money and much more power.
It handles much better and is much lighter.
From what I have been told anyway.

Buy the .25, I have one and think it i great.
The shot count is only about 16 but it thumps animals.
You would easily kill fox sized animals with .25 turned up.
I get just over 900 ft per second with jsb pellets and the anchor stuff.
Quality is ok fit and finish fine. They are no works of art but they shoot straight and with authority. I prefer the .25 over my condor .22 for power.
The .25 has better write ups for accuracy as well. the only negative of the .25 is shot count and you are not worried about that from your post?
I would love to get 16 shots at squirrels every time I go out in the woods but I am not that lucky. lol
I also ordered a guppry tank so that will never be an issue if I do get one of those days where I can kill 30 squirrels! lol
SS there is allot of info on the Maurader on the net and on this forum also, i have read about it quite a bit, i really like the looks of the gun and was torn between it and the condor for my first Pcp purchase right at a year and half ago .
I have seen evidence of a great shooting rifle and i have seen people disappointed in the rifle , it could go both ways, but i would not mind having one , and would not worry a bit about buying one either.
But you say you want more power for bigger critters, so that leans me toward the condor.the maurader will not shoot the heavy pellets to 1000 fps like the condor will , like the 32 grain and 28 grain eun jin .
I believe the marauder will run them around the 700’s for the 28 grain , but any of the light pellets i believe will run up to the velocity that they will shoot best at.
I bought the condor thinking i would be running it all out , but did not think about it not shooting best at this velocity, even with the 32 grain pellets i am not running the condor at max full out, i keep them right at 980 to 1000 fps for best accuracy.
So basically you still have room with the Condor for a heavier pellet to run up to 1000 fps.
If your not planning on shooting it much you might think about a .25, allot of guys are having a blast with them.
I really like the Marauder and may end up with one one of these days, but for now my Condor in .22 will take care of anything that i want to do. i have adjusted it down to 450 fps, with the 14 grain pellets and up to 1150 fps with the 32 grain pellets.
Accuracy at 1150 fps with the 32g. was not great, like 1 ” to 1 1/4″ at 50 yards, but slow them down to 980 to 1000 fps and they closed up to 1/2″ .
You can buy the expensive Jsb’s or you can shoot the crosman h.p.’s for plinking in .22 .
There is a guy on the yellow that got his marauder 22 to shoot under 1” at 100 yards , so the gun is capable , and it had a clip and this is cool .
Right now if i wanted bigger critters like youare saying and i had a SS in .177 and didnt want to change it around. i would try and get a condor used and tune it for your taiste, i think a SS condor will shoot harder than any of the other guns. and i know it will with the 24″ barrel.
packrat post while i was typing this and i agree with his thoughts also, except for the price of the AA guns. WOW, your getting into a whole nother area of guns with these,$$$$ but like he said i bet they are sweet to play with but they are power limited.
Yeah its as long as my shot gun… I’ve owned and shot a 350 magnum so I know what I’m in for regarding weight and length but I like the idea of a repeater and the price is within my budget.
The S410s are beautiful but the price kills me. Especially because I need to buy yet another scope.
Power is fully adjustable, and they are becoming well known for being accurate…..TWO things keep me from being one..(1) Gun is too long and (2) weighs 7 1/2 pounds without a scope !!!!!!
For my .22, I chose an AA S410, FAC, carbine…..WITH scope weighs 6 pounds….37 inches full length, and comes with a TRULY effective full length barrel shroud. The specs quote it at 23 FPE…the NEW ones put out 30+ IIRC..the tradtional bolt style, like mine, can put out 28fpe, by simply drilling to holes–a 15 minute job..I know , cause I’ve done it to mine 😀 😀 😀 PLUS the 410 series is a 10 shot repeater ..The trigger will bring tears to eyes, the first few times you pull it…IT IS THAT GOOD…and fully adjustable…you’ve never felt anything so smooth.
I get 20 shots , @47 yards, inside a one-inch kill-zone
I could go on and on, but I’ll stop right here..you can find a good used S400 or S410 for just a little more than a BNIB MRod….IMHO–you get a LOT more weapon for the difference 😎 😎 😎

if you cant get moa groups with your condor, it needs work. period.(or you just suck, but i assume thats not the case, if your doing good wit your M-ROD) 😉
