Q:

Do you have to remove the breech to clean the Edgun barrel?

I think mine may need a swabbing out.

Thank you gentlemen.

I just remembered that I have some Beeman MP-5. It states that it’s safe on airgun seals so it wouldn’t you think it would be okay on O rings?

Hi Paul.

It is probably easier to just pull a patch thru from the breech end. I like to take the rear breech off and push a Dewey cleaning rod, with patch, thru.

I don’t think that normal cleaning needs any solvents. I use FP10 on a patch. It hasn’t hurt the transfer port or barrel O rings yet, AFAIK.

If you want to use the nasty stuff, you probably should remove the barrel.

The barrel comes off easily, getting it aligned back up can be a bitch!

To clean with a rod, yes.

I use a knitting needle of witch I cut off the hard parts (needles) from sides. Than sharpen one end of the remaining plastic and hot flatten the other end with hot spoon etc. Put a patch of fabric through the sharp end and than the same end put it through the barrel from breech to muzzle.

You can use gun oil on patch and let a little time to dissolve the residue and then clean with a few dry clean patches.

I don’t know if this works with other guns but it does the job on Matador.
