I guess in the end it is whatever shoots best but it is nice to know if you have a 22 Marauder and a 22 Airforce gun that likes Cuda’s like most of them they may shoot better with different head diameters and you might not want to share the same tin.

I have some Kodiak Match in 177 from 3 years ago and they measure the same head size as Cuda Match from a recent order last month.

I’ve wondered about 22 vs 177 also… the M-Rod favors the larger head sizes in 22 and the TSS favors the smaller 177 head sizes.

Predator seems to know this as their heads swing each end of the spectrum depending on head size.

Yes the MRod barrels are choked as well. I suspect the difference is barrel specific. If I started with the 5.53s I would have gone with JSB heavy’s (18.1) instead of the Cudas as my primary pellet. I wonder how many folks out there don’t realize the Kodiaks and Cudas may not be the same and can shoot significantly different depending on head diameter?

When I shot the M-Rod in 22 (before returning it) it seemed to favor the larger head size. Is the M-Rod barrel choked?

All the LW barrels are choked.

I should have added the 5.50 mm Cuda’s as well. I only have 5.51s and one can of 5.53s. They do shoot different in my Condor with a 24″ barrel the 5.51s are clearly more consistent for some reason but both shoot very well relative to other pellets. These results seems to be the opposite of what I heard a Marauder guy say that had tested them and found 5.53s the best. It must be very barrel/config specific.
