Mods made to Ruger Mark III Clip Loader
The Clip loading tool I purchased for my Ruger Mark III needed to be modified to account for the extra bump on the clip to work with the redisigned clip release on the Mark III pistols.
I had to cut a groove in the inside edge to bypass this bump.
Below are pictures showing how I did this.
The little device works great and was only $3.50 and it fits in the gun’s original case and would be easy to carry unlike one of the nice, but more expensive, fragile and bulky clip loaders I have seen.

The clip loading tool in use. Its purpose is to hold down the button on the side of the clip that you have to slide down to load the cartridges. With this tool, all you have to do is drop them in.

Before modification.
Note how there is no notch for the bump to pass through. If used like this, you will not be able to easily remove it once it passes over as the other side is a verticle edge and acts as a stop. (this feature also holds the clip in the gun)

Reaming out a notch using a Dremel tool and a thin rasp.

How it looks after the modification. It now slides on and off freely.
