In order to justify that the colored guns do in fact exist…I would not be surprised if AirForce was told to start producing different colors by a legislator who said that legislation was coming and they needed to be prepared. Then used the existance of colored guns as a counter to the argument that no guns in those colors were available.

You have to be plain stupid or unsupervised carrying a replica (airsoft or otherwise) in a public place. The officer is also responsible here – was his life in immediate danger?
I don’t remember the place but I read one time the police shot an old man sitting in a chair in the yard, thought he had a gun, it turned out he ws watering the flowers and was holding the nosel of a water hose.

California is the land of the hypocritical anti-pro-gun politicians. The politicians want the guns for themselves and for what also appears to be the hardcore criminals. Sort of like the Democrat admin running guns into Mexico for the drug cartels while trying to ban responsible ownership in the states…
Note how there are more laws and money going into restricting gun ownership than for what appears to be going into actually stopping gun crime. They are passing more and more and more laws while cutting the number of police…
Oh and the police use the force needed to respond to the call. If the police are told someone is brandishing an automatic assault rifle they are prepared for an automatic assault rifle and if it doesn’t have the orange tip or someone reaches for something under their coat force is justified if they are threatened (the gun is pointed AT them). The call was for someone with a MACHINE GUN… (this is a generalized example, not specific to the kid in LA)
Sure it’s fucked up but that is the way it is. They are responding to someone with a handgun and he actually had some thing that looked like a gun, people have been shot over this and they didn’t have anything that even looked like a gun. Sure it’s fucked up that it happened to a kid but it’s the call that they respond to there is no situation briefing other than the call “kid brandishing a handgun”. And where crime has risen to where kids kill people then the shoot first ask questions later response is what will happen.
To me that is a sign of the utter ineffectiveness of the police or the criminal system to actually stop crime, no additional laws that are constitutional can change the situation we have now.
A judge in Florida was given a taste of the treatment the common citizen is exposed to when the police are called with someone with a weapon and she was shocked, alarmed, pissed that she was treated like a criminal. Funny she “no idea this was going on” and she was African American too, and she had NO idea?!?! Is it from being sheltered, is it denial, is it that she though everyone in her courtroom and in the newspapers was lying? She had NO IDEA!!! 🙄
Kind of explains why these laws are being passed, the people making them and turning them into laws have NO IDEA what is going on. Nor do they care to actually try and figure it out.

there also propose legislation that will ban the “open carry” of firearms here in California.
the California state legislature is in the stone age, keep in mind; i doubt there’s more than a handful of them that are rational.

It should be noted that the 13 year old kid weighs 200lbs. Also, when the police pulled up, the three boys scattered. The incident occurred after a brief chase where one of the officers confronted the kid who was hiding behind a parked van. The [200lb] kid was ordered to the ground. Instead he reached into his pocket and yanked out the gun.
This incident is a tragedy…but, its cause was human stupidity – nothing else. You could have had this same result replacing the airsoft gun with a Snickers candy bar.
