Condor with Doug Russell short version stock
I received my 25 cal Condor from R&L Airgun Supply last Christmas. The Condor is great in 25 caliber and the R&L shroud works very well. The one problem I have noticed, as many others have, is the lack of a real stock on AirForce rifles.
I received the Doug Russell short version stock from R&L last week. The quality of the stock is amazing. Most of my problems with the Condor have hopefully been resolved with this stock. Much better balance and cheek weld, and it’s steadier from a free-hand shooting position. Enclosed is a picture of my Condor with the new stock. I chose the short version so I could still attach the varmint light, and because of the lighter weight. Most of my hunting is done at night on my ranch for varmints. I was going to try out the Condor with the new stock this week, but didn’t get around to it. Will post results after I get a chance to shoot while hunting and at the range.

Would you happen to have a photo of the added hammer weight on the Stubby Extreme and the RL Airgun Supply Extreme Valve?
I am curious to see what they are doing to these valves and hammers. I suspect it’s a stock Condor weight added to the stock Talon hammer. The valve has me stumped though. 😀 Is it a Condor valve/tank combo?
Real nice!!! I have a Stubby Extreme from R&L but will get a stock for my Condor eventually. They are different guns with these stocks. R&L has a backlog on stocks so I am not in a hurry since I got one of the first Stubbys. I would like a red slurry color to match the red anodizing on the Condor but it may be a few months before they catch up on orders to do anything special.
The Stubby Extreme is so light, powerful, comfortable. and accurate that I will use it for hunting on foot exlusively ( so far my farthest shot on a sparrow is 78 yards with the 12″ barrel from my bench rest). The 22 cal is over 50 fpe with En jins and the 25 cal with Eun Jins gets to 57 fpe or so. (BTW the Stubby Extreme is a cannon w/o a shroud so a special Stubby shroud is in development and works very well (don’t ask me how I know) – should be available soon for sale and is very short and light)
I also swapped the tanks/valves in testing with the Condor and Stubby w/ Hi-Flo gets about 80 shots with a very good string I published here on a different thread. With the Hi-Flo and Kodiak/Cudas Stubby is at about 30 fpe for the 80 shots. More than adequate for birds/squirrels out to 80 yards or so and very comfortable to hold up standing for long periods of time.
The Extreme Valve/tank on the Condor is pretty amazing. I am getting 72 fpe with the 32.4 EJs or 64 fpe with Kodiak/Cudas and a 25 cal barrel will do over 80 fpe. The Stubby Extreme valve was really thought about for the 9mm/30 cal barrels on Condors and they are gettings over 150 fpe with a 9mm barrel and 78 gr Eun Jins in early tests but it makes Stubby into a little powerhouse.
Nice setup!! Seeing his stocks at the Arkansas Airgun show got me to thinking about the 25 Condor as my next purchase with one of his short stocks like you have one.

R&L shooting supply is charging $10 more for the Doug Russell stock than Doug was charging before he made the agreement with R&L. I believe the short version stock was $265.
Yes, the BSA mount is higher than it should be, and I am tempted to try the Daisy Red Dot mount. The light that I am using is a 150 lumen UTG with a toggle switch. Going through the brush, I really don’t want a light with a cord.
I feel confident that if I miss a raccoon, I can hit him over the head with the stock, and the stock would be safe.
PS. I am so tempted to upgrade my TSS and Condor with that stock.
Hey, quick trick I learnt on this forum. Get a Daisy Red Dot sight from Academy. Take the mount (only) and flip it upside down. Then use it to mount your BSA laser right down to the rail. It will give you a better short range laser for those close shots. Cheap and simple.
i really like the look of that short stock 😀 how many pennies did that set you back, if you don’t mind me asking?

Some quick notes on the stock. I took the Condor with the new stock to the range this week and groups have tightened. I’m currently using Eunjin 43 gr in my 25 Condor. Power wheel is set at 10. After adding the new stock, groups have gone from 1-1.5″ to 3/4-1″ at 50 yards. Point of impact was shifted down approximately 5″ by the new stock. JSB’s have not been grouping well at that power level with or without the new stock. Just came back from hunting in south Texas this weekend and got two raccoons. The stock makes the rifle feel great.
I am primarily interested in hunting, and would be interested in the extreme valve because I want a little more power than the stock Condor. I am also interested in Jerry’s slugs.
