Condor – Hammer Slap mod explanation

Curious about the Hammer slap mod. Ity looks to be a halfmoon grrove with an o-ring glued in place and trimmed to fit.
I can see this would dampend the impact of metal to metal.
Does this have any negatives (air loss, recoil, reverberation, etc.) ?

Breech should be against tophat so it shouldn’t make any noise.

Interesting – it sounds like the cushioning needs to be in both places – hammer to breech and breech to top hat. I shouldn’t say cushion as we don’t want to lose enegy or create rebound, just ping noise.

It is on the hammer side of the breach so it doesn’t effect the tophat. The oring on mine is on the hammer it’s self instead of the breach.

Now that I have studied the situation, won’t that o-ring keep the top hat from fully collasping, or is this where a top hat “gap” needs adjusted to be the combined height of the o-ring and top hat movement ? How would you figure that as you would not know the crush of the o-ring ?

It does eliminate shapness of the tone of the hammer strike. It does not effect velocity.
Thanks, Tony
