Condor – Minimum gr hammer weight for 42.8 gr Eun Jun pellet
Without causing any more recoil then necessary, in a 25 caliber Condor, what is the minimum grain weight of a hammer needed to push out a 35.8 or 43.2 gr Eun Jun pellet at 850 to 950 fps ?

Yeah I believe TT uses the stock spring.
I was under the impression that Tony always used the stock OEM springs…am I mistaken????
p.s. My TTAAA.25 shoots one ragged hole groups at 40 yards with the pointed EJ’s. I had a showdown tonight between the pointed EJ’s and the exact kings and I must report that the EJ’s kicked the Kings Ass! I was not expecting this. I will try this test again after I slow the Kings down a bit as I suspect they might be moving a bit too fast @ 1100 fps. My 43gr EJ’s were moving from 950 to 980.
What are your pressures ?

That turns out to be approximately a 72338 from Century Spring which is a 4.1 lb/in spring.

My TT Condor .25 has a 95gram hammer and the stock/OEM spring. It shoots the EunJin’s 43gr at 955-960fps on PW 8.5. But the valve was also polished/ported so there is probably some more power from that as well. However I have not tested it at PW setting highter than 8.5, so I know it can spit out the 43gr faster, because I tried PW 9-9.5 with 31gr Kodiaks and they went >1,070fps at which time I backed it off to 8.5 because the shroud was not as effective at that velocity and it was using up too much air. BTW, there is a ~100fps difference between the Kodies and the heavy EunJin’s.
I used to have a heavier Talon Tunes spring but it was harder to cock and the gun was a little less accurate with that spring. I like the gun better with the stock spring & heavy hammer, and it also doesn’t “jump” as much. You will be in the 900’s w/the 43gr no problem with just the heavier hammer, but not 950fps, unless you have some valve work done. Before you do anything, make sure your Condor likes the EunJins. Some don’t. Also do some target shooting @ 60yds to make sure accuracy is acceptable for a good head shot on a Coyote. Don’t expect to kill it with a “body shot”, not right away anyway.

It is stainless and I thought I was told stainless runs about 30% lighter. In
steel it is 6.2 lbs.

I have a 72338S and it says it is 3.5 lbs and it feels slightly stronger than the stock spring.
I have both springs in steel and stainless plus I have 2 from Leupy’s and 1 for my big bore Blod valve that is way stiff. .950×4.00 .081 wire 11 coils. It came with the valve and is a little to small in diameter to fit hammer. I will get the same spring in the right diameter next time I go down where Century Spring is. If any body wants some springs let me know and I can get them.

With the 2000 reg, 53 ci tank I can get 60 shots and only loose about 30 fps. I get springs from Century Spring Corp. It is local for me. Turning up the PW has no effect with the reg so I run it on 0 so it is easier on the gun. The reason I run a heavier spring is to open my Blod valve with a 3000 psi fill. I did notice the stock spring starting to lose some of it’s strength and wouldn’t open my condoe valves at 3000 psi. I had left it cocked a few times with the power wheel cranked up and I think it hurt it.
i dont have my airforce setup anymore
but i was shooting eunjins at 1070 with decent accuracy
i could crank it up and make them crack just for fun but they lost significant accuracy doing so
but around 1070 they shot very well
these were in 32 grain also
so….what weight pellets can you shoot wiht your setup ?
the power wheel controls the tension the hammer spring applies to the hammer
the higher the PW number the more tesion which equals a little more time the valve is opened releasing more air
i got my heavier spring at the local hardware store
so a heavier spring + a heavier hammer = more time and further the valve is opened increasing the ammount of air going behind the pellet which will increase the speed of the pellet to a certain point
but you have to test it as theres point where it wont gain any but will just waste air
My 25 cal Condor won’t be here for another week – explain to me how you can have the Power Wheel at 0, is it because of the regulator which controls all. Would you highly recommend a reg or just a nice to have ?What does the PW actually control ? Where do you get a “bumped up spring” ? Is it needed when going to a 95 gr hammer or you just trying to get the equivalent of a 100 gr hammer ?
Most of my shooting is done with my regulated tank that shoots .25 JSB’s between 940 and 950 fps. Recoil is minimal. I have power wheel set at 0 with reg. Haven’t done much shooting with the eunjun’s besides through my conogragh for testing. I have no issues with recoil. My gun is sighted in for around 60 yds and shoots fine at 10 yds if you compensate for it.
What is your recoil like ? Can you grab and go and hit a Coyote at 60 yds or twang a chipmunk at 10 yds ? Is it still first shot deadon ?

Yes he does use the stock spring, but he did not always do that in the past. My Condor was sent to Tony by the previous owner for a full-tune (like AAA mods without the grips) about 3-3.5yrs ago. The spring that was installed was not stock. I was having some issues with the gun, and Tony recommended the stock spring and said heavier springs can sometimes bend trigger & safety components. I like it much better with the OEM spring now, although it shoots about 15-20fps slower, but who is counting. It’s also using less air per shot which is what I wanted.
Airgunner 1: I do not have a regulator on any of my Condors, to answer your question. Yes, there is life without a reg. or eTAC, and my Condors shoot fine 😉
