Can anyone help with a valve
Hi I am wondering if anyone can help.
I recently brought an E tac reg
when I tried to screw the valve in I found it was a little too long to fit in as the back of the valve has a piece of plastic so I decided to shorten it
since fitting it back it now closes into the reg but when I fill with air it comes straight out through the valve stem.
I have tried all manner of tightening and loosening but I am unable to stop the leaking.
I am pretty sure I F##~ED it up but as it is just a piece of plastic I am sure it could be fixed by someone in the know.
I will post a pic but any advice would be great
Malcolm

If the technique used to shorten the plastic piece was a cross cut, then the piece may have been pushed off axis ever so slightly.
You may be able to salvage by placing in a oven at less than 200 degrees and let the natural forces realign the plastic material. Don’t use any radiant heat, only residual heat. It’s hard to guess the actual minimum temperature and time needed to make it malleable, but Teflon melts at 621 degrees F.
Good luck and May the Force be with you :10:
