Q:

Just installed a R&L Shroud / LDC on my .25 TT Condor

Excellent craftsmanship and a great, effective design. Tamed my 70 FPE beast to a level slightly less than my BSA R-10. I really like the way it remains concentric to the barrel to eliminate clipping. So far, my testing shows this combination to be laser accurate with JSB Kings, as well as Baracudas. Now I need to fine-tune this awesome airgun to find it’s ultimate potential. So far, I’m liking it a lot! :thumb:

You must not have a 95 gr hammer then. If I turned mine around I don’t think it would work. Mine is stepped and the spring slides over the end of the hammer.

Yes, I do have the 95 g stepped hammer, and yes, it does work reversed. The only issue is that you must hold the breech open while releasing the safety, then close the breech. It will slam-fire if the breech is closed and the safety released.

I’m kinda puzzled to about that also. One side of the hammer is stepped for the spring and other has delrin on the end. So how does the spring index?

A TT hammer is just like a standard AirForce hammer….on the other end, so it contacts the spring in the usual manner. Not sure what all the confusion is about……. ❓
BTW – with the PW at 6 and a SP of 2600psi, I’m getting 20 shots within 20fps @ 65 FPE using Baracudas. Getting close to what I think will be optimum with this rig.

Why would one turn the hammer around ?

Shorter (quicker) lock time! Also, for some reason, I have better PW sensitivity this way. ????? Beats me, I’m an AirForce “newbie”.

Why would one turn the hammer around ?

Thanks for the details.

Please describe a “reversed hammer ” and it’s weight ?

Also, your saying your airgun is a TT, but on the Talon Tune page, the 25 Condor should be 90 FPE ?

“Reversed hammer” = standard TT hammer turned around!

The TT .25 Kit is advertised at up to 90FPE…..if you want that much! A simple turn of the PW will get you there with the HEAVY pellets.

Thanks for the details.

Sounds good – What all did you do to tune to 70 FPE ? What is the lightest and heaviest pellets you can shoot and stay in the sweet zone of ~ 800 to 950 fps ?

My set-up is basically a TT Kit with a reversed hammer, PW at 8-8, with 2900 psi. JSB Kings @ 1008, Baracudas @ 970, EJ 38.5s @ 905, EJ 43s @ 873. Haven’t tried anything heavier…..yet. Still trying to sort it out as it is real new. Need some cooler weather for full string chrono testing.
