Condor – To adjust or not adjust the Top Hat
I just read an article written in 2009, saying that the Power Wheel takes the place of the old Top Hat adjustment.
What’s the real scoop on Top Hat adjustment on new Condors ?
How do you figure proper Top Hat adjustment on a modded (95 gram hammer and/or polished valve) Condor ?
I’ll be looking at 35.8 and 43.2 gr Eun Jun pellets only.

Yes I am using JSB Kings right now for everything below coyote size and they are ok. I just wanted a little more oomph and some guys seem to be having some success with about a 52 grain solid slug in Condors at about 100 fpe. The bullets are short enough I don’t think they reach the rifling as you load them.
The leade is the smooth distance to the rifling where you load the pellet. THe Surefire rings seem to handle this just fine but the long Eun Jiins are really deformed as you have to push them in real hard. I am guessing that is why accuracy suffers somewhat. R&L is testing the Surefires in the .308 custom Condor they have developed but I wonder if the leade will need to be adjusted.
If you have a .25 caliber Condor with a high enough power setting or modded valve go with the Surefires for maximum carnage out to 50+ yards in my opinion.
Harry – what mods do you have as you say you have to dial down to shoot 25.4 gr at 1050 fps ?
SECoda: JSB 25.4 Kings work great on raccoon, possum and Groundhog (red fox too). I have my Condors dialed down to shoot them around 1050fps and they are still very accurate. They are the most accurate pellet I have put through the Condor.. and I have tried every .25 pellet out there. Before .25, I used to take these critters regularly with my .22 Condor using 21gr Kodiaks. It’s shot placement that counts the most with these larger sized small-game animals. FPE helps, but if the pellet does not hit the brain, they won’t go down easy. I have taken many Groundhogs with my 14fpe .177 Diana 34 with a single shot to the fuse box, and they all expired just as fast.
AirGunner1 may I suggest you read thoroughly some post that already go into great detail on what you are trying to accomplish. I see you asking a lot of questions that have been answered many times before. It’s probably why you aren’t getting a lot of replies.
What do you mean by “short leade in the .25 barrel” ?
I have a Condor 25 cal on order and have the 95 gram hammer coming.
Will that be enough for the 62 gr ?
We are working on Jerry 🙂 to produce some 5 ring Surefires – maybe in the low 50s grains? We would need to give him a big order to make it worthwhile. I am in for some. The Eun Jins are only so so and not designed for the short leade in the .25 barrels.
I am currently trying get a coyote with the 6-rings and they hit like a hammer (about 100 fpe at 850 fps 62 grain). I would like something a little faster and lighter for raccoon, opossum, armadillo (new to my area), ground hog sized game. With my R&L valve mod I figure 50-52 grains might do around 925 fps 95-99 fpe.
Mine works great out of the box… I treated it like a 22 rimfire… I found the round it likes at 50 yards and standardized. I get 1080fps with 18gn UltraMag ballistic tip pellets.
I’m going to do some more accuracy testing in a few weeks with dome pellets. With 55fpe and .22 I prefer hollow points.

I have a 25 cal on order, and now wonder if the 35.8 and 43.2 gr EunJuns will have a “leade” problem. I’ll just have to wait and see when the Condor arrives.
Who is making the 52 gr ? (name, website, etc.), and do they shoot as good as a 6 ring (62 gr) ?
