Frame Extender shroud – how to make more quiet
I have on order the Frame Extender shroud for the Condor and I understand it works without baffles. Is there any additional baffling that can be done to quiet it some more, similar to how an R & L shroud is baffled ? (I didn’t know about the R&L shroud at the time I ordered).

Well the Frame Extender arrived. It is a tube with a inward punched end hole and maybe a mandrel was used to form the end. It is hard to tell the actual shape of the inside as it is about 18 inches long. No Baffles. (I’ll mount it as soon as the Condor arrives and try it out.
Is there any free space between the end of the barrel and the front of the shroud?
You need an air stripper inside the shroud, but in front of the barrel, to let the pellet pass, but hold back the pressurized air and force it into the back of the shroud, or through some baffles, to slow it down and reduce pressure.
What you can do depends a lot on how much space you have to work with inside the shroud, and how long it is compared to the barrel.
After it arrives, you need to post more info on its length and design, with pictures.

You will need baffles. The shroud, empty, is unlikely to give you the results you expect. There are several forum members that can machine some for you, at a nominal cost, if you want them to fit securely.
You will need to get an inside diameter, preferably with a set of calipers, but a ruler can get you close enough.
The shroud is merely an expansion chamber for the air pressure escaping from the muzzle. Alone, it will reduce the muzzle blast somewhat. However, the baffles serve a number of different purposes, to break up the harmonics created, force redistribution of the air, and create a slower release of that pressure from the shroud’s end. That’s as smart as I get on this subject. Others know much more.
Jim Marmot_Militia has done some delrin baffles for me and they were very nice. There are several others who may do only the baffles, you’ll have to ask around this forum and see who wants the business.
