Laser illuminators work excellently. Especially with Gen 1 (they are sometimes a bit too strong with Gen 2 or 3).

Cyg,

How well does the IR light work? I use a Sony and with this bulb and can only see out to 30′ maybe.

I didn’t see watts on it, but I run it on a 18650 3.7v battery. Should I get the 3W light or I think I could get an extension and run two 18650’s, what would be better?

thanks

I think he wants a infrared laser illuminator, nice from what my brother tells me, but expensive

if your looking for an IR flashlight then these are great http://cgi.ebay.com/Ultrafire-3W-Luxeon-Infrared-IR-LED-flashlight-6PIRA-/170519586336?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b3c26620#ht_3259wt_1163

if your looking for a laser to put a dot on your target, then i cant help you…maybe try a regular laser and put negative over it to dim it down so it doesnt burn the NV…if your nv is the camera type sensor like sony camera ccd..then it wont burn

critters notice red lasers also green….some care others dont….i was illuminating a squirrel with a red one and it could care less even when pointed directly in the eyes

the 3w IR flashlights works really well with sony camcorders with night vision mode….

I stand corrected. I confused your illuminater with another type of laser.

The green laser illuminators here cost about $300 USD.

Sorry.

well, this is cheap if you look other ir laser illuminators, not diode illuminator, laser illuminator.
Luna or Dipol is 90mw and cost almost same as Bars 200mw
Anyway, I bought that, and we will see how it work 🙂

Good grief! That’s expensive. 200L

You can find them a lot cheaper and an IR illuminator is little more than a flashlight. An inexpensive one shines the same as a costly one.

Most Gen 1 night vision scopes come with an IR light illumination light attached.
