What is cheaper to make a mirror with motors and a switch or a friction ball joint?

Then again a car maker can’t sell a pos “luxury” car for $80k with manual mirrors can they.
Electronics may not be the enemy but they are certainly lots more money to own and repair when they eventually break and they will break before their manual equivalents.
I’ve had cars from the 70’s (40 year old cars) and the widows work 100% when I crank them up. After 10 to 15 years power window switches go bad in almost all cars, not to mention the motor that moves the window.
What is cheaper replacing the handle on a rollup window once every 40 years or the motor and/or switch for a power window every 10-15?
Tell me how well a electronic rifle shoots without batteries? Or how well a digital camera will work without batteries?
I’ve had a manual SLR for 25 years and it works like a swiss watch. I have to replace my digital cameras every five years because some little pos cheap ass motor fails… 🙄
I agree with this I bought the air ranger instead of the air wolf batterys and electronic go bad,gun cost is high enough without having to worrie about charging a battery,not to mention im out hunting and the dam thing looses power,then what? call me old fashioned,ill stick with what works! without a battery,,me haha 🙄 ask any gal bet shes says she perferrs the real thing…. 😆
If you are worried about failures and sh*t hit the fan scenarios – you should not count on any PCP, including the Wolf. Nobody is going to pack a carbon tank in their bug out bag. Electronics are not necessarily the enemy – car makers install electric adjusting side mirrors because they are more reliable and cheaper than cables. Its the compressed air -no air, no fire. Dont talk to me about hand pumps. One more thing to carry and go wrong If you are going primative, life support gear you should be shopping springer or pump gun. They tend to work until you run out of pellets. When I was a kid my sheridan survived my no maintenance abuse for several years until the brazing holding the breach to the air tube failed, a failure that had nothing to do with poor maintenance. I suppose if you own a wolf it would be a good idea to buy spares of the unique electronic guts, just incase DS goes bye bye.
I remember the ads for the remington electronic centerfire. I dont recall actually seeing one in the store. I also remember the remington 5mm rim fire. At the time I wanted one – luckily I didnt buy. 5mm ammo is now a collector item now and the guns regardless of their technical merits have no ammo.

Remington gave us that ammo that was ignited electronically. That didn’t last long. We have been burned so many times by faulty electronics that most shooters seem to prefer tried and true, old school technology…myself included. I would love to own a Daystate, but I don’t know how much faith I would have in it. It wouldn’t be a surprise to take it out of the safe one day and have it not work properly, or worse not function at all. Ana a Rogue? Crosman can’t get the .22 Marauder right after how long? Two years? THat doesn’t do much to inspire faith. Just sayin’. (But I do really like my .25 Marauder…I bagged 4 rats with it last night with modified crow magnums. 😉 )
Call me Old fashion, but I think electronics in conventional weapons are inherently wrong. A tack driving Daystate with an electronic trigger or a Rogue with push button valve ajustment may seem like a great advance to most, but I still prefer cold steel and tempered springs.
Bullets and pellets are hard enough to keep up with in the field. Now they want you to carry extra batteries a screwdriver and a soldering iron 🙄

Very attractive gun with nice performance and my first impuls is: “Wow, that is so cool!!!” but then, next immediate thought is : “That is weird to have a computer in the outdoor hunting gun”
I just can’t imagine myself going on the hunting/camping expedition with my friends and use gun a lot and then find out that battery died and I am in the woods caring that piece of junk for nothing. I guess if you are really rich and you have that gun as one of many in your collection and you want to show your friends the cool toy, then that is nice rifle to have around.
These days they coming out with new electronics every month. They just came out with IPhone 3G and the already have 4 and now 4s and it is not going to stop and I don’t expect buying new phone everytime they come up with upgraded version of one. So how long before AirWolf electronics will go outdated and Daystate will not support then because they will come out with updated version. No! Not for me! I wanna buy rifle to last for long time and so I can repair it myself if needed.
And I really doubt that it performs well in freezing weather. I live in the state that has cold winters and electronics do work slower in the cold. I asked on the yellow question about cold weather and no one gave me really good answer, I think because maybe people who own one live in worm climate. But I might be wrong.
Cool to have one if I use money to wipe my butt with $100 bills 🙂
