quote kada82:

thanks riff raff but i cant even get the bottle of the suba tank when i fill it. i open the bleed valve and it just gush,s out and only when the pressure has dropped can i take it out the filling adapter so by the time the i get the bottle on the gun all the air has gone 🙁 im at by wits end now wish i knew someone in the uk who could fix it for me

Make sure your tank is completley empty and take the valve off of the bottle. You might need to replace your delrin valve material.

If you have air leaking past the delrin seal, the air should be coming out from inside the stem not from around it. Air is going to take the path of least resistance and unless your stem is plugged, the air will come out from inside the stem.

A seal can be reseated as long as it isn’t damaged. Try dry firing a few times, or use a light tap with a RUBBER mallet on the tophat. Hit straight down, you don’t want to bend the stem. Hit only hard enough to release a “pop” of air. Sometimes it takes a few strikes, then the seal re-seats. Not sure how grit gets in there, but it can and will.

Ive had to do this to my valve more than once. Just be careful and wear your safety glasses and maybe earplugs. That “pop” can be loud.

If the air is coming out around the stem as you suggested, it might mean your stem is cracked/split but without the seal leaking the air shouldn’t be coming out at all.

I suppose your stem might be bent on the seal end, and might be out-of-round letting air around it. But still, the air should be coming out the normal path. (Unless I’m misunderstanding something)

Locktite can only be loosened with heat. Not too much or you will start to melt the delrin seal.

Preload settings will not cause your valve to leak.

Use Photobucket to upload your pictures to and then insert the IMG links here.

right just try somethings but still leaking however it seems its leaking from the hole around the stem behind the top hat. looking at other threads about leaks. someone had a leak and had the tophat wound right down. well mine is wound right down and as been loc tite,d. how can i remove the loc tite as i cant really get a pair of pliers on the stem as it will bend 🙁

also someone tuned the preload and gave it quite abit could this have let the derlin valve stay open cheers
