Q:

Digital DRO scale died

for the mini mill. I usually can repair them with a digital caliper but the digital calipers have a new internal design so thats a no go now.

I went to order a new 6″ Digital Scale and they run about $50 +. As I looked around I found this for $35. It should be here tomorrow. It looks like a good inexpensive way to get DRO o your mills or lathes.

So this will replace my Y axis DRO.

I got my Y axis hooked up and it works fine.

I spent about $450 getting my original DRO set up for my Mini Mills many years ago. Now to replace one of the digital scales costs more then getting one of these units 🙄

The great thing though is now there is a inexpensive solution.

I need to try one from Grizzly. I’ve used these from Wholesale Tool, but they are not as ‘value-priced’ as the ones from Grizz. The remote readout is a huge plus as well.

They are very easy to cut cut down to what ever size you need also.

Looks like even a better price.

Grizzly was the best deal I could find. The simple dro read outs work great for me on my mill and lathe.
