Q:

How loud?

I shot my Condor yesterday with an 18” .22 cal. barrel for the first time and it almost blew my ears off.Can sombody tell me how a Talon with an 18” barrel would compare for loudness. Thanks

Benson.

Had you shot it with a different barrel ❓

Otherwise, what’s your fill pressure ❓ , power wheel setting
❓ , and pellet ❓

If your setup pushed the pellet SUPERSONIC you would get the Sharp crack of the destablizing sonic boom. That’s not good for accuracy ❗

If that’s the problem, either lowering the fill PSI and/or power wheel setting can help. or maybe a heavier pellet would be enough.

Let us know all the info and we may have other ideas like placing an o-ring behind the top hat. That alone can slightly slow the pellet and provide more consistent speed and more shots.

Since you have the shroud restriction, the only thing I can think of would be to pick up one of the regulators. I believe they are Eteck, or similar and regulate the output pressure to lower the report. you will loose some power, but also make the gun quieter, and very consistent. Won’t be the Condor monster, but might help. I don’t have any idea about the laws up your way, but are there any provisions to pay a fee (tax) and have either a shroud, or moderator licensed for your use?

We can’t use shrouds or silencers up here…

The Talon has a smaller valve ID, and releases less, air resulting in more shots, less power. However, without a shroud it is still quite loud.

You will be sacrificing a lot of power for a minor decrease in noise. Better to contact one of the forum evil geniuses for a means to silence your beast. Or, simply click on the Talon Tunes logo, discretely displayed at the top of this site, and go with a Cadillac version that will have you wondering if your Condor even discharged.

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

I can’t, but with a shroud from talon tunes you won’t hear the report at all.
