Q:

First groups with new Talon . . .

My new Talon frame came yesterday, so it didn’t take me long to put the .25 caliber barrel on it, attach a scope, and sight it in.

Now I can leave the .25 cal barrel on the new frame permanently, and the .22 caliber 12″ barrel can be taken off and the .177 barrel put on for winter indoor shooting with CO2 on the other frame.

Here’s the “dynamic duo”

The Swarovski 2.5-10 I mounted on the new frame was sighted in for the .177 barrel, so it was on the paper to start with. After shooting several sighters, I did the following two groups, at 25 yards. I didn’t use a bench, just a 45 gallon drum with a rolled up towel over it. Works pretty good, but the groups will go tighter when I do it properly. Power wheel set at 8.

The target is a 10 meter pistol target scaled for 7 1/2 yards, which is what I shoot indoors. The group with the Exact Kings is a shade under 5/8″, and the group in the lower right is a four shot group (one sighter and the rest with the original shot as an aiming point) with H&N Baracudas that comes in under 1/2″. To say I’m pleased is an understatement.

I’m sure that I’ll get the groups tighter as I tune and shoot off a proper rest. What interested me is that the Baracudas grouped better than the Kings. They did in subsequent groups, too.

Thanks for looking in.

.25 Condor 😈 😈 😈

Got a red .25 Condor arriving this Friday. 😀 Sold my .25 Mrod to get it. Still have my refurb .22 MRod that shoot like a lazer with 1.5″ groups at 60 yards. Got a bunch of pellets left over from my .25 Mrod and looking forward to shooting it this weekend. Hoping I can group ’em as well as Benji ❗

Your definitely off to a great start. What till you smack something with those pellets.
