Q:

bushnell legend on a .270?

Should the older bushnell legend 5-15×40 mildot ao, hold up to the recoil on a savage .270? I have one laying around and was thinking about trying it.

I thought it would be fine just a little bit more power than the typical 3-9×40. The gun was new last year it has a cheapo Bushnell that came on it. I only use the gun about 6-8 times a year and have never fired a shot at a deer with it since we normally use buckshot and dogs for deer hunting here. I was going to join an optics forum but I know most of them would tell me to buy an $800 Leupold. Thanks

no problem at all

I wouldn’t hesitate one bit, never read about a .270 being a scope Killer. Have you had problems before with that rifle? The Kermit Texas Airgun club rates the Legend 5-15×40 AO for medium to heavy spring guns. So a .270 should be no problem.
