New With Questions
Hello fellow airgunners,
New to the forum, but not to airguns. I currently own an Air Arms TX200 MKIII .177, and an Air Arms S500 Xtra.22. I have my sights set on a Talon SS and wanted to drop a couple questions. Although the forum answers an abundance of inquiries, I simply cant find my particular combination.
Here goes: I want the Talon SS .22 because of it’s lower report, but at some point would consider going from the stock 12″ barrel to an 18″.
1. There will be a velocity increase when switching the above mentioned barrels, but what difference could I expect.
2. If I switch to an 18″ barrel, will the shroud be useless? If so, does anyone supply an extension to get the report back to what it would have been with the 12″ barrel inside the shroud (quieter is ok too).
I am looking at a new trigger shoe and tactical grip frame from Talon Tunes, but other than that I don’t really know what to do. Obviously this wont all need to happen immediately…a work in progress 😀
Thanks for your valuable input,
jpip

Just a couple months ago I put a 18′ barrel and matching shroud from Talon Tunes on my Talon SS, THAT is the perfect setup for that gun. It did give a healthy velocity boost and it could not be any quieter.
I’ve played with different barrels, tanks and hammers, but when I am going to do some serious shooting I will always go back to that setup.
