Q:

P-rod Air Tube Extension Available

http://www.airgunadvice.net/viewtopic.php?p=116198#116198

The fellow above is selling Matador Pistol air tube extensions @ $135.00 each, if he can get 8 to 10 orders.

He’s pretty proud of them, based on that price, but I have to admit they do look impressive. I don’t know how air they add.

That has to be a custom built shroud. Looks nice.

Thanks for the pics, it gives us a chance to see how it can be done and without a lot of tech expertise.

You know where the shroud screws on to? There is a small screw there you can loosen it up and move that piece up like he did. Pretty simple.

Everything is factory parts but the shroud extension made by Jim G. The shroud is from the prod.

I gotta work with what I have. I got both mrod and prod to work with.

needs a little tuning.

The fellow over on airgunadvice.com wants $135 per extended air tube. I’m afraid that’s way too much for a 20cc improvement. As noted above, for the same money you can get a real increase in volume with a small tank.

I guess that’s why the guy didn’t make any more. Just not enough results for the time and effort.

Thread is 1/8 npt, I use a brass t-fitting, a male to male hex nipple and a paintball on/off. I went my local hardware store. The paintball on/off is made by ninja. I’ll get newer pics tonight.

Since the t fitting only had one male threaded end, I used the male to male to make the connection with the on/off and t-fittings.

The older pic I use the extended from a marauder, 90* elbow, and paintball asa to 1/8.

Where did you find the fittings to attach the bottle? And was there any problem in determining the sizes/threads needed?

Hoot

I went with the bottle and with factory settings getting about 710+fps reg @ 1800psi using jsb 15.9. shot count is about 50+ if I remember. Also drilled out the transfer port and valve with 1/8 bit and polished the hammer.

This pic was taken before the final setup. Now I have an on/off and t-fitting for a gauge.

The 13ci tank holds just as much air as the Mrod. 13ci = 213cc, the Mrod is 215cc, and the Prod is 60-65cc. So with the tank on the gun thats 273-278cc. Tanks go for $80+ up to $125+ depending who you get it from.

I think you are correct in your assumptions and opinions.

A small bottle might work out very well, and could be regulated too.

Oh what to do, what to do…..I wonder if the AF pistol bottle would offer
any improvement? It would be a nice size for under the forearm. I have
no idea of it’s capacity. Time will tell.

Confused Hoot 😯

PS: I can piss more than 20 CC’s.

“I CC’ed the 6″ extension tube this evening its right at 20cc”

That’s a lot of $ for a 20cc gain. Better off ordering a Marauder tube or modding a disco tube. It looks weird as hell too. I’d need to put a 24″ barrel on it or it would just not look right to me.
