Yeah, I agree with you, the sensor was too close.
I’m going to wait until my chrony comes in to post some more comprehensive numbers, especially with these nice 28.6 grain .22’s I’ve found.
Me talking to myself with the gun shouldered gave off a 68db reading.
Thats 68db from my throat, condor doing nothing.
During the trials, I was casual about tightening the grub screw that holds the shroud in place (aka, I left it pretty loose). After one shot, the shroud had moved forward about an inch.
Just goes to show you how much power these shrouds have to handle.
I can give you a real-case use for these.
Weekend 1: No shroud : It was pretty much impossible for me to shoot in the backyard, surrounding areas of the house without being noticed.
Weekend 2: Shroud Installed. People in the house didn’t even know I was shooting.
It is so very satisfying to me to be able to project fpe’s of this sort with so very little sound. Thanks again Tony, your piece took my rifle from great to dead sexy.

Yes.. I’m still waiting for it. The guy need 1 week to finish it. Item is not arrive yet. Hope it works great otherwise I need to find a better one. I hate a loud shot. Condor is the most powerful air gun and need good silencer.

Make this sound with your lips …pufff….
That’s as loud as a TT shroud is.
Since I have no chrony yet, this is pretty much useless info, but lets wait for my update tomorrow, when I’ll bring out some thoroughly unscientific shroud VS no shroud numbers.

73 decibles?? with the shroud?? are you sure you don’t have the meter too close and your pellets shock wave is what’s creating the sound ? move the meter 10 feet to the side and try that again. if you have the meter too close, you might also be recording the hammer slap, as well.
Count me in…. waiting for your review… if the product good…. you will have good nos who would be interested…. Condor is already expensive… with all add ons…

I’m new at all this and wanted a shroud for that age old newb reason, they look cool and I’ve wanted one ever since I saw them. I called Tony and had it 4 days later and it looks perfect – absolutely like AF design it themselves. Highly recommended.
If the cost comes around 100 usd, then there will be lots of buyers. Tony are you listioning:)

Already order from a guy who can make it for me. Will take a photo and have a product test soonly.
I think people should be able to say the pros and cons about all the shrouds on here. So then everyone in the end gets a way better product. Competition makes everything better.
I got my hands on a radioshack decibel meter and am running some initial tests on the TT shroud. I can’t do a shroud VS no shroud test until tomorrow, but I can report that I am shooting kodiaks at 73 dBs.

To much work for a $100.00. Sometimes you get what you pay for and this is one. If you want a good one it’s going to cost. Also there is nothing wrong with delrin. Your breech is made out of it right?
spen a little extra and get one of Tony’s. or you may end up wishing you had.
Yes around 100usd is pretty cool price. I happened to ask one gent on the forum who has put it for sale for 100usd, but later on pm asked me 160 usd plus shipping.

Thanks
Thanks all for the information… I still find some who can make it (with aluminuim …no Plastic or Delrin material) under 100USD.

Dont you get a silencer with the rifles from the manufacturer ? here in the UK they come as a standard part in the kit with a new stealth (talon)
i was reading the moderator/silencer section …well a quick look are silencers illegal in the states or somthing ?
you have to apply for a moderator as a seperate item for fire arms and shotguns in the uk but other than that there is no restriction on air rifles
…allthough to be honest when my gunpower stealth (im not sure what that is as far as the talon names go) was on 23 ft lb and by then the silencer was almost redundant , and without it on my friends laughed at me 😀
