hammer/slide question
Ok, heres the question
the hammer as it slides on the barrel is actually quite a rattly fit, not what youd call a fine tolerance at all, so with that being the case is there a chance that herein lies some of the inconsistancies and variations in fps? Now, my airarms s400 has a hammer and its own slide rail and there are no rattlings there at all, the only way the hammer can move is along the rail………….my s400 is consistant in fps over 50 shots with a variation of only 8fps (without a reg!).
Anyways, im going over to one of the forums top guys sometime next week to have my barrel cut down from 24 to 18 inches and was wondering if any of you guys have had the hammer slide section machined to a good “none rattly” fit, and if so, is it better? more consistant? and, while having my barrel shortened, should i specify this closer tolerance?
Cheers chaps
PS…..in exchange for some top advice, i shall teach u some more British profanities, general swear words and all round foul language
