marauder thoughts
i was wondering, does it really matter that the barrel of the Marauder remains “free floating”? since the shroud is supported on the inside via that plastic thing at the muzzle…its not really free floated. another thing i was wondering about is the shroud- its free floated, and passes straight through the barrel band w/no support. does it really matter? wouldnt it be better to give it some more support? just wondering- thoughts?

Ya, the .22 Marauders seem to be hit and miss. Some guys get good guns, and others get lousy guns. Oh well, if that’s how they want to run their busisness, then all we can do is put up with it, or spend our money elsewhere.
My P-rod has been a disappointment. However, the replacement is more accurate. When I get the check valve sorted out and have it quieted down, I’ll be much happier. But crosman’s QC isn’t very good.
I sent my 22 m-rod back inside 24 hours. For 40 yards or less I like my TSS.

Kazzz, what caliber Marauder did you have?
I have a .25 Marauder that is a really great air rifle. I also just recently got a Marauder pistol that grouped so poorly that I sent it back immediately. They sent me a new one that was looked at by the crosman techs. It groups much better. However, the check valve sticks poen and leaks out air when I degas the line. Crosman’s answer is to degas really quickly. They also want me to buy some RMC oil for $10 per tube. Why would I pay $10 to correct a factory defect on my second new P-rod? Their quality control sucks.
I sold my Mrod after 3 months.
It leaked, was not grouping, and I knew it was not me, but the gun that was bad shooting!
I was NOT satisfied with the Mrod, but.. for the price it is maybe worth the money for plinking and small game.
Ive shot bugs off of my targets and lids off of soda pop bottles with my Marauder. And it stays in tune and holds Air indefinatly.
Not talking about anyone elses air gun, but it don’t come any better than that. 😀
If Marauders were made in the UK and shipped to the USA they would run about $1000 at least.
Take a look at the 10x more expensive Theoben and you have your answer.. 🙂

can anyone tell me the I.D. of a MROD shroud? and also by chance the specs for the part of the breech that the shroud mounts to, like length, and O.D. and such? ooh, and the O.D. of the MROD barrel? thanks again guys!
