Q:

9mm Condor/LW Barrel how much cut?

i just get my 9mm Lothar Walther barrel for the Condor, the 13mm valv is allready made, the LW comes in 712mm lenght, (28″) but i think about this, with 28″ my condor could see as a fishing rod more than an airgun!

Well, haw much can i cut from it? 14″ may be a good plataform for a “super” CondorSS ๐Ÿ˜‰
perhaps 18″, or 20″?

You are planning on getting a custom breech too right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why not slug the barrel first โ“
Is it a choked barrel โ“
How close to the end is the choke โ“
What is the diameted of the choked slug โ“
What’s the diameter of the rest of the barrel โ“
Before circumsizing the choke, find out how good it shoots.
You can shorten it later but it will not grow back โ—
You may decide to shorten the breech end but if it needs re-sized who ever does it needs to know what they are doing so the breech doesn’t change size.

Think twice before you measure then measured twice before you cut.

go 28 then cut it off 1in at a time till u see a little decrease in fps then stop

This method sounds great, BUT, cutting a LW, (250โ‚ฌ in Argentina), may be a little “extreme”… thats why iยดm asking for someone experience… ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

It takes awhile to accelerate a weight with such a large frontal section pushing air and more circumference dragging on the barrel. If you go 24″ then you have all the standard Condor options for shrouds.

Let’s assume that the pellet is 50 gr doing 764 fps with 28 inches of barrel and 4.9 milliseconds in the barrel.
Assuming linear acceleration (which is not the case), a 24 inch barrel will give the pellet 742 fps with 4.4 milliseconds in the barrel. 20 inch barrel is 711 fps with 4 milliseconds. 16 inch barrel is 668 fps with 3.5 milliseconds. 12 inch barrel is 608 fps with 3 milliseconds.

Sounds a little iffy to whack that barrel back too far with such a big slug.
