Q:

did a lil top hat tuning..

i have a standard flow tank, and i have been thinking of gettin a etac reg,so i either want a 2200 output or a 2300 out put ,today i had my top hat at .105, from last time and power wheel at 4,5.i wanted to see with a 2300 fill how fast it was,i got about five shots in the low 900s.then i remember Wok saying put the top hat as low as about .71,to start testing.i put it about .74 , .75 about nickel width.then i filled to about 2300 but not quite,im to lazy to pump.and put the power wheel at 2,11.i took 10 shots, 1).915,2).907,3).908,4).912,5).896,6).903,7).905,8).905,9).894,10).895. and when i checked the fill it was at 2100psi. now how come when i put the top hat down the fps went higher?do you guys think this is a good setting? i mean i think i should get maybe 915-920 fps with 2300 reg, with 15.8 jsb.and possible get alot of shots.anybody have any thoughts, should i just leave it? im also gonna try moving the barrel back a little bit too.lol i like fiddiling with this gun ,but all this thinking and testing is making my brain hurt.thanks, turd

the accuracy is great the oring if any helps by taking away some of the distracting hammer ping… the oring is mainly for valve consistency and shot count and it works….. this setup is with my .22 condor i have the same tune on my ,25 condor just with higher pw setting to get that extra power… both ways though i like the oring changes it makes it easier to get high shot counts… i cant imagine if i got a regulator… 😯

dude you should get one i just actually put in a order with jim gaska. does your 22 rig have a high flow ,i might actually get one for my next tank .i did have a oring on my tank but i was only getting 850s,but i did have full adjustment with power wheel, which was cool.

colster, i kinda new i wasnt gonna get a lot of shots with an about 2260 or 70psi fill i wanted to see what velocties i would get with a 2300 reg when i get one, when i get the reg i would fill to 3100 psi and shoot down to 2300,how is the accuracy with your setup does the oring affect it any.50 shots is awesome, you dont even need a reg.maybe i would be better off with a high flow valve ,cause i would just like to shoot jsb 18grs for a lot of shots. maybe if i got the hi flow and a 2k reg i could get what im looking for,and add the oring.

colster, is your set up with your .22 or your .25 ❓

oh forgot to mention that is with hi flow tank…. with a standard flow on same tune (pw at 5.5, 9) i get 100 shots start pressure 3000 end pressure 2400 and it used average of 6 psi per shot!! and this was shooting kings at 910 fps with 5 fps spread through whole string…. so yes ten shots with standard flo tank is not very good…. and again i hav an oring installed which helps… but with regulator u should break 120 shots easy with this tune..

um yah its pretty ok… but u can go better… i tuned mine to shoot 50 shots start pressure 3000 end pressure 2500 only 10 psi per shot at 950 fps with jsb kings with only 5 fps average spread between shoots 1 through 50… of course this is with an .070 oring under my top hat and a dime space but it works… u can get much better than that…. especially once u get a regulator i dont have one…. u can get really good #s if u tune to wat i have…
