Can a 4500psi paintball tank be used on the condor?
I was wondering since there is an adapter made for the talon and condor.Where you can use a paintball tank on these guns.Does the tank have to be a 3000psi tank? or is this adapter regulated in such a way that a 4500psi tank will be acceptable?.

You guys are all missing the boat.
All paintball tanks have built in regulators that set output pressure to around 800psi, PERIOD!
ALL paintball tanks, 3000psi, 4500psi, 100,00psi tanks, so what all regulated to 800psi
The regulators are built into the tanks.(this is where JDS or etac hpa comes in to up this output)
The Co2 adapter never sees more than 800psi, but it can handle far more
You can take any paintball tank (Co2 or HPA)and hook it up to the Co2 adapter, they all have the same threaded connection,
and are all regulated down to 800psi.
Co2 adapter is a bad name a (paintball adapter) would be better.
Just curious as that setup looks like it is designed to do one thing very well….
What is it that it is designed to do ?

I have an unused 4500psi JDS regulator set to 2400psi output that is threaded for the paint ball tanks. I had bought this to use with the Etac that would fit this regulator, but ended up buying EtacHPA that fits directly to the paintball tank instead.
What the JDS regulator will do for you is allow you to use the 4500psi tank at full pressure where normally you could only fill to 3000psi.
For a 177, 22 or 25 cal it would be perfect for a ton of regulated shots.
I went with a 308 build and needed a little more flow. By not using the regulator I can not fill the tank to 4500psi and can only fill to 3000psi.
I recommend Etac with the downward slope. Cheek placement if very nice.
Here’s the difference in the amount of air 3000psi and 4500psi makes.
68 cubic inch Carbon Fiber tank = 1,114.320352 cubic centimeter of water volume.
Math used….
Pressure unit equal to 14.7
1 Cubic Foot = 1728 Cubic Inches

Amount of air at 3000psi =
68×3000/14.7 = 13877 ci / 1728 = 8.03 CF = 227,384.278 cc

Amount of air at 4500psi =
68×4500/14.7 – 20816 ci / 1728 = 12.05 CF = 341,218.001 cc

Standard Condor tank is 490 CC
29.90ci x 3000/14.7 = 6102.04 ci /1728 = 3.53 CF = 99,958.468 cc

If anyone wants to buy a unused JDS regulator for a paintball tank send me a PM. Will only fit a paintball tank. Could be used with reg and paintball tank only and outputs 2400psi or added to the Etac to fit a AF rifle.
Ahh, thanks Synopsys, we are on the same page. Those are differently threaded. The tank I was able to use was a 12 pz. Spyderco CO2.

Non-Co2, 4500psi hpa. Unless you can find one that has the same threads as the AF Condor valve you will need an adapter.
From what I understand the threads on the AF valves are ‘odd’, but maybe it’s just other larger aluminum hpa tanks that are odd..
I didn’t think he meant Co2 since it’s not anywhere in his post or title. Paintballers use regular hpa too right? 😕

I’m confused, I used a non-air force tank with the CO2 adapter and it worked just fine. I assume the CO2 adapter is generally compatible with all modern CO2 tanks since they are standard in the industry.
The Condor valve will operate at 3000psi without out problems. That mod I linked to is a 3000psi set up, it IS NOT a Co2 valve or any part of a Co2 setup… It was fully custom made for a scuba tank hose.
Why wouldn’t it work with a paintball tank that can take 3000psi or more. The Co2 valve thing is a Condor valve with different return springs and yes it’s not meant for anything over 2000psi… But you can’t use a Co2 adapter unless you screw it into a AF tank, a Co2 adapter and all AF valves will not screw into paintball tanks.
I believe a couple of people have put cf scba tanks and paintball tanks on the end of these rifles and used a stock Condor/Talon valve with thread adapters on the end of the valve so it fits the tank threads.
JDSAriman offers one larger tank that has the right threads.
AF is going to say no to all kinds of mods simply because of liability.
JDSAirman also makes a 4500psi input regulator.
Not sure what Myst is saying but your idea has worked for others and works well. 😉
I asked almost this exact question last week and the answer from here and from air force is that with the co2 adapter, you’ll blow the valve if filled beyond 1800 psi.
Not 4500 but HPA tank…

I bought a 1850 psi output regulator a few weeks ago off of eBay and a used 48 ci steel tank last week. Had no problem taking the original tank regulator off and replacing it with the 1850 psi. They have a standard 5/8 thread on them and the regulators just screw in the tanks. Not only that but if you take a paintball tank with you on an airline you have to take off the regulator or they won’t let you take it on the plane with you.
