Q:

GTA Gateway to Airguns

_/\_Anyone here belong to GTA? They have a spam bot trap on the sign up/register page and it is a pain to get through. But I bet they never have a problem with spam bots loading up their site with spam.

Maybe we need something like that here, would make it slow to sign up/register, and log on, but would probably keep the spam bots out. 😕

Sam 😉

Something along the lines of “candy ass” then. 😆

Bob’s basically a good guy…just gets his panties in a bunch from time to time. Usually over rather little things.

And NOW…I have to go have a look…just to see what you uncouth, uncultured, ignorant mofos said to those poor, innocent, teletubby watching gentle souls….I haven’t had a good laugh in days. 😆

Deutschksk,

Yes, I have made my last post there, seems they don’t like me saying I use scba tanks that are towards the end of their hydro life.

TAG is the best, you can say what you want.

I have to take offence at what everyone calls the wonderful close knit air gun brotherhood, after having seen the results of the Steve in NC/Darren snitch program.

I am new to forums, but some of these forums have the biggest bunch of uptight boy scout, petty assed Johnny jumpups I have ever encountered.

No wonder most of those idiots are only trusted with BB guns.

I always stop at stop signs, but I have done 145 in at 55 zone, I have lived on illegal wild meat, and I have frequented whore houses in some places National Geographic has not even heard of, and I have filled Discos to 3000PSI and I use end of hydro life scba tanks, and those taking offence at that can lick the stale brown salad from my raunchy ass.

That would be you Bob.

Roachcreek

I just joined a vintage snowmobile forum.

I needed to wait till a Mod approved my request. about 1 full day.

My BMW forum I belonged to had the same thing, and application,

Name, address, reason for joining and for the BMW forum, last 7 of the VIN.

If you block all ip ranges from a certain isp, chances are you won’t block any certain members. Problem is, they could then just route through another isp. Making it harder to sign-up would be the best method IMO.

There are a lot of things that would be nice to implement….

Liking peoples posts, itrader ratings etc would help us with gauging who to pay attention to/buy from.

The Spam thing is being worked out. Have to decide the best way to go about it, because like you said – blanket IP block might effect some members.

I like how you have to log in to the GTA forum.. keeps out the spammers.. but their forum is too mature :p cant even fucking swear in my posts over there (woops)

One solution which I recommend highly is to block all IP from China and India. That would take care of 90% of our spam.

I am sure that is the case, but we do have a few good members who post from India. Not sure about China though. Perhaps those few affected could submit their IP to the moderators and it could be exempted????

That would include requiring such a submission for joining in the “bad” IP ranges.

if R.C. would stop visiting those beastiality sites, that would help, too. 😆 😆

We are working on it. It has decreased significantly but a few are still sneaking in.

We need something.
