Q:

Got a .25 Marauder today

The FedEx truck brought my new .25 Marauder this morning.
My initial impressions so far:
-The stock sucks worse than I expected. It is impossible to get a good cheek weld, and the pistol grip is too far from the trigger.
-It’s not s loud as I expected, but not silent by any means.
-Accuracy seems OK so far, I am shooting it better than my .22 TSS at 40yds.

I don’t think I’ll be taking my customized Ruger 10/22 out anytime soon now that I have the Mrod, it donated it’s scope to the airgun.

Get yourself some RAT grip materaial and make yourself a custom grip, closer to the trigger.

ELSOLO…i was referring to the accuracy improvement in your 10-22 by switching to a 1-9 twist shooting CCI subsonic ammo (SERIOUS TACKDRIVER). Not the quietness of the 22lr

The only Ruger parts left are the receiver and bolt. I kind of went overboard upgrading it 10 years ago. It’s dead nuts accurate, but I can’t shoot it at home. Whenever I go to the rifle range to shoot centerfire rifles, it goes along and eats a few hundred rounds. Loading up half a dozen banana clips for it keeps me busy during cease fires at the range.

It will get it’s scope back, or a new one. I am just too busy playing with a newer toy.

I like my crumby stock on my .25 Mrod. I don’t care about it. It can get scratched and I don’t think anything of it. Roachcreek refers to the Marauder stock as a “fencepost”. I think that’s funny! 😀

For a quiet .22, I’ll stick with the CZ-452 that has a 28.75″ barrel.
With subsonics it is quieter than my TSS.

ON TOPIC: Congrats, i kinda like the MROD. I shot Steve in LA’s.

Off Topic: Get a 1-9 twist barrel and shoot CCI SS ammo and you’ll be putting that scope back on your 10-22…lol

Send me your stock and I’ll camo the hell out of.. you won’t be able to find it. ;p

It’s been a while since I have painted a stock.. must be the lack of stocks to paint?

There are two types of Marauder Owners, the ones who love em and the ones who hate em,, no inbetween that I can tell.
My Marauders are the First 100 sold to the public after the first test 100.
My 25 will stack pellets up and so does the others,. My Maraud P is a good close range brush gun .
All my guns are good, Ive had some for over 15 years and they still do goo. My oldest one is the spring piston. It shoots about 450 FPS,, Supposed to do 500 but it never has but it is accurate. Good to keep pest out of the yard by burning up their rear end.
I think WOK needs to figure out a Stock for the Talon-P That adjust in and out like the small airforce stock they have on the target rifle, Ehh Some day maybe..

Nice looking shooter.. have fun with that .25.

I did the same. It did not turn out how I wanted but it is better. The wood sucks to work with!

I think the stock is made in China.
There is a sticker under the buttpad with writing I cannot read.

I sanded down the wood to remove the brown stain, checkering, and Benjamin name on the fore end. This won’t fix the dimensional issues, but it might cut down my hatred for the wood to a more tolerable level. It is getting coats of boiled linseed oil as a finish, but I’ll probably end up adding bondo or glass to build up the insufficiencies at a later date.

That is a record for me, taking sandpaper to a new gun on day one.

Great gun. Some love them; some hate them. I love mine! My 10-22 also gave up its scope…

Happy shooting 😀
